“Convenient, cheap price, good facility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

With a cheap price, Lucky House is quite a good place to stay. It's located on Chakkapong Rd, only 1 minute walk to either Khaosan Rd or nearest bus station, and there's always taxi or tuk-tuk parking near by. There's also a 7-11 store across the street where you can get everything you need, very convenient. The rooms may not as big as they appear in pictures, but very clean, equipped with hot water, Wi-Fi and really strong air conditioner (I had to turn it off sometimes it got too cold), you might want to check if the TV works well too. On the other hand they charge very high deposit for the room key and towel.

Rude and terrible stuff, asked for 400 bats for a black pen lines on our sheets. Shout on us and tell they'll bring the police for this story. They ruin our last night in Bangkok. Don't go to there, it's not worth it. They also took my passport for deposit and didn't bring it to me yet.

Ok if you're used to living in the lap of luxury this ain't for you. If you want a roof over your head, shower and a bed for the night; it's perfect. It can be noisy at night and the wi-fi is only good for Facebook etc not Skype/FaceTime. Take hangars.

We only stayed there for one night after flying all day. When we finally arrived at 11pm they argued that we had arrived too late. Then they argued that we hadn't paid when we thought we had. It turns out they were right but there was no need for the receptionist to yell at us. She was also yelling at some other people who had made a reservation which she could not find.
The room itself was basic but adequate. Big enough, with a tv and a typical South East Asian bathroom. The location was great as it was at the end of Khao San road without actually being on the road itself. The front of the place wasn't clear but our taxi driver still had no problem finding it.

Not great at all. Rather spend a little more and get so much better. Noisy if you take the cheap room. We took the expensive room which is quite. No lift, only a luggage lift. There are much better places in the area for the same sort of money. I won't go back.

Basic standard accommodation the only one left in bangkok when I arrived from India. The bathroom was alright but it smelt a bit. The room was smallL but bed was comfty, wouldn't have paid 400 baht a night if not desperate. It did the job a quick kip kip in bangkok whilst exploring before heading down south. The curtain rail actually fell off when I tried to open the curtains but hey ho it's only a hostel.

For the price I suppose you can say it's average but the idea that it's clean and cheap is not true. The walls of our room were dirty and the bathroom mirror looked like something from a prison. The room was nothing like the pictures the hotel displays and there was only one plug socket in the room which the TV was plugged into.

The noise from the boxing gym and the opposite bars was very loud in the morning and the night. The cleaning staff would also shout down the hallways to each other early in the morning (if they actually turned up). In the whole 6 days the cleaning staff only came in once and I had to ask.

The reception staff were also very unhelpful as I asked if they had a map of Bangkok and they told me vaguely to look around the police station. They also refused to let me use the phone when our transfer bus to the airport didn't turn up and told me I had to use the payphone down the road and were quite rude about it as I didn't get so much as a sorry.

Overall, this is probably the worst place I've stayed in purely because of the unclean room and the incredibly unhelpful staff. I wish I hadn't paid in advance because it ruined out trip to Bangkok.
