“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

Stayed there recently during my trip to Bangkok. Strategically located, less than 5 minutes walk to the nearest BTS station (ratchathewi station), about 20 minutes walk to shopping area, Platinum mall. Rooms are ok size, the one I stayed at has no windows but I'm fine with windowless rooms. Wifi speed is extremely good even in rooms. Hotel has no elevators but the staff are very willing to help with carrying the luggages to the rooms. Had a small pool right in front of the hotel lobby too. A very good hotel that is value for money overall.

We stayed 2 nights here before moving to another hotel.

Booked direct with hotel, reply was fast and efficient.
Main reason for booking the hotel – price , new building and access to BTS.

Checkin was fast. We were assigned room on 2nd floor. There is no lift.
Room – ok for 2 adults.
Bed- ok, but pillow was bad. We slept using the cushion provided on 2nd night.
Shower area – water drainage is bad, area not tilted towards the drainage holes. Have to sweep the water while having the shower else, the mini area will be flooded.
Toiletries – Remember to bring your toothbrush and toothpaste . They provide 1 mini cup of shower gel and shampoo + 1 bar of soap. If you need additional, “Housekeeping close at 6pm”
No available umbrellas for rainy days even though you call less than 3 mins from the time downpour started.
For ac power plug, they do provide, but please collect it personally at the reception.

A new budget hotel, stay only if you are not fussy and before the wear and tear starts showing. Convenient access to BTS. Remember to bring toiletries.

We chose this hotel because of its location.. close to the shopping area of Bangkok! We also went with it because of the price. Pretty cheap!
Overall, not very impressed. The room was just OK. The bedroom was pretty small and cramped. Air-conditioning unit was terrible and we got sick from it on our very last day.
Toilet paper top-up was one very small roll per day. The shower was just horrid and I just couldn't get the temperature right on it. On the bright side, complimentary drinking water was provided. Two bottles per day.
The bar downstairs was very small and uninviting.
I wouldn't stay here again. I would, however, come back to Sushi Masa, in front of the Siam Swana Hotel, for some more of their Foie Gras sushi. Wow. Amazing!

in reserving my room for this place i got a great deal on a room which turned out to be quite nice although not any light as there are no windows. the location is located close to the skytrain which is nice as well. there are not that many places to go sightseeing nearby though or cafes to just sit and wail the day away. the staff is what made me give this place only 3 stars. it seemed that although most of the staff spoke very little english, understandable since i'm in their country, when i would try to bridge the gap by speaking what little thai i could, i got looks of disdain. kind of a lose lose situation. i won't come back

the reason why i pick this hotel is because being near to siam, it is relatively quite cheap and new. being a logical person, i am not expecting the best for the kind of price i pay and that the purpose of this hotel is just a place to sleep, thats all.

i am still disappointed because of a few unpleasant issues.

bad housekeeping. the floor is dirty. even if its not mopped it should be swept. the basic toiletries only consist of a capsule of shampoo and shower gel, and they dun even replenish until i had to ask for it.

the room we stayed in is not cold enough so we suspect the air con is not really working. the free wifi in the room is also not working most of the time. when we have no choice but to use the one at the reception area to do online flight check in, they wanted to charge us for it.

the receptionists and housekeeping staffs are unfriendly. they dun smile and speaks rudely. when my friend requested for late check out, they wanted to charge him double of what he paid for during his stay a month ago. when we confronted, she says speak to the manager. when we did speak to the manager, instead of apologizing he was giving all sort of excuses.

the only good thing?
the massage/spa located within is good and cheap. even better than the famous one i always go to at silom. there is a japanese sushi bar which is very popular. it is always packed but a pity i did not have the chance to try it.

there is certain things i can do without but not decent basic services. if i dun get them here, there are other hotels in bangkok where i will feel more welcomed for sure.

If I only had to review the location, this hotel will have 5 ratings. By far, this is the best located hotel I have ever stayed at in bangkok.

less than 5 mins walk to the BTS station, 50 baht tuk tuk away to platinum and pantip plaza, you can walk but paying 50 baht is worth it. One station away to the airport link, again location is great.

The room is ok, no windows but not a big deal.

Breakfast is disappointing, I would rather pay for a room only price than with the breakfast.

Staff, as expected in Bangkok hospitality I guess, they are just there to check you in. No smile, no thank you when you leave, no enjoy your stay, no call us if there is anything we can help you with. Nothing. We didn't expect much from them anyway.

The pool, is a bit of a laugh. It's located in the entrance o the reception, by the bar in front of their parking space. There were people who swam once in a while during our stay but the location of the pool is just plain awkward.

Will I stay here again, yes because of it's location. But will pay for a room without breakfast.
