“Quite acceptable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

This trip stayed at Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri- and GCP Terminal 21- i would rate both about 80 out of 100 of the 18 4/5 star hotels in BKK i review on TA

Ratchadamri is a bit nicer- ( and cheaper) but both of my big negatives there --don't exist here.
First the location- Sukumvit/Asoke is in the heart of everything- restaurants- cyber cafes, entertainment, pharmacies, laundries etc- all missing in Ratchadamri
Also the much too small, noisy, windowless breakfast room- here has a less hectic room with windows- and a better breakfast-
The pool is very nice- as is the gym- there are free computers here to use as so many cyber cafes for 1/baht a minute (Ratchadamri charges a high rate to use as there are none. nearby)
The "superior" rooms do NOT have bathtub or bathrobes.
Terminal 21 is a really well done- expensive shopping mall- it is fun to just walk around- and on the 5th floor- in the "food court"- you can stuff your face with good Thai food for about $1.50 a plate- great for lunch or even dinner- hard to spend $5 including drinks.

Room Tip: rooms over pool are quieter

After a week in Hua Hin I stayed here with the family for 2 nights. I had booked a double for my wife and I and a treble room for my 2 daughters and their friend.

We arrived at around 1:30pm and were able to check in straight away, my wife and I were upgraded to suite on the 21st floor, and the girls had a room on the 22nd floor. This is where the only negative of the stay occurred. The girls room was not yet made up as a treble but we were assured that housekeeping would set up the third bed as soon as possible. Leaving it at this we unpacked and went out for the afternoon and evening, on returning to the hotel at 10:30pm we found that there was no 3rd bed set up. I called the front desk and they said they would get it sorted out immediately, however 30 minutes later still no bed so I had to go down to reception and made a bit of a fuss, whereupon the 3rd bed was sorted out immediately. I have to say that when I went down the staff on the front desk were very professional and helpful and sorted things out very quickly. I suspect that this was just down to a miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping when we checked in rather than any indication of slack service or incompetence.

The rooms were very nice and the suite especially so, with nice bathrooms and very comfortable beds (enough has been said about the Japanese toilets in other reviews, but definitely an experience). Our suite had a great view out over the city and at night we were looking down on the neon of Soi Cowboy. The girls spent some time around the pool which was very nice, the pool itself being an infinity pool looking out over Bangkok (the pool and gardens are on the 7th floor). I also used the gym which was very nice and well equipped and looked out over the pool area. We only ate breakfast in the Hotel which was a buffet with a good range of food choices, but very busy as has been noted before.

The location was terrific, with the terminal 21 building being connected to the Skytrain, and the underground trains being adjacent. This was very useful as we took the MRT (underground) to the Chatuchak Market for some serious shopping, and used the BTS (Skytrain) to get around the Sukhumvit area, and for yet another shopping trip, this time to the MBK Mall where the girls bought lots of brand name handbags (not genuine, but good quality).

Whilst this is not a cheap hotel, the room quality and service gives the 5 star hotels on Sukhumvit a run for their money, and the location cannot be beaten unless you want to stay down on the River. We would certainly stay here again.

Book this hotel to attend a convention. The rooms were big, about 70 sq. meter with fantastic bed big lcd tv, has microwave , refrigerator bigger than normal hotel size and bathroom that is great.
Hotel is in Terminal 21, a new big mall which has everything. It is also accessible to sky train and subway where everything is under one roof.
most of all, price is very reasonable for what you get.

Room Tip: See this hotel to believe.

Location is great, nearby the Sky Train Asok station. This hotel more like a service apartment then a oridinary hotel. Food is average, swimming pool is average, room is OK. If you look for a place to stay with convenience location at bangkok, this is the one. However, if you want more luxury with a peace of relax, this is not your cup of tea.

Room Tip: High floor with great view

Just as other mentioned, it's a so new hotel with new staff. But we can feel they're trying their best to service us. As a tour group,we can stay here, i feel good and happy. We also enjoy welcome drink at the morden lobby. Expecially the amazing outside swimming pool, where you can enjoy the beautiful Bankok night scene. So cool...... Stay with friend, drinking beer together, i love the night stay here.
In a word, new hotel, good hotel. Good location and behind of Terninal 21 Shopping mall, easy for shopping. You shuod try when it's still new!

We chose this hotel for its convenient location and ease of access to BTS & MRT. There was a small hiccup at Check-in. Our booking was for a room with washing machine/dryer but we were assigned another room without these. Management then moved us to residential floor (30th floor) & into the Executive Suite as agreed in earlier email confirmation. We even bumped into Khun Paul (Sales Coordinator who handled all our e-mails before arriving) during check-in.

Suite & the view were amazing! I pushed the provided extra bed to the foot of the sofa & when joined ...... Viola! A second queen sized bed, more than sufficient for 2 children. Extra pillows, floor mats, towels, toiletries were delivered when requested. Kids loved the the electric dual blinds. We had perfect view of the Benjakiti Park. On a clear day, we could see the Western side of Chao Phraya! Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. Marketed as a serviced apartment, all cooking utensils were provided. Microwave & stovetop were fm SMEG & washer/dryer fm Electrolux. All were easy to use.

Our only gripe was the very irregular hot water in the shower stall. Be careful not to get scalded.

Breakfast was in the Blue Spice restaurant which also happens to be a part of the retailers in Terminal 21 shopping mall. Variety and quality of food offered were well above average. Egg-station, noodle station, dim sum, salads, pastry, cereal, soy milk, yoghurt, cooked pasta, minimum 4 items of Asian cooked food, fruits, juices were all there. We didn't get bored even after 6 days! Although always crowded, you can avoid it by going at the "off-peak" timings. Service staff (even the trainees) were commendable always putting in extra effort to help guests.

Clientele were mostly Asians - mainly China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thais & Malaysians. The swimming pool as described by many was very good for doing laps. The dark tiles made sure water was not cold and it was never crowded. I used the gym, sauna and steam room almost every day. There was ample space as well as varied and good quality equipment.

Now comes the deciding factor - the convenience of a mall & food court(Pier21)!! For those with families, you'll be spoiled for choice & the food prices are remarkably cheaper than in MBK or Central World. I'm not kidding! For example, a serving of mango sticky rice in Pier21 is only 35baht, in MBK it's 100baht & at the airport it's 150baht!! For Western food like Saba fish & chips it's only 40baht @ Pier21!! It's always crowded during lunch as office staff tend to eat here in A/C comfort.

Directly in the basement of Terminal21, there's a gourmet supermarket with a lot more kiosks offering food. Back on the sidewalk, if you walk 20m towards Westin and go into the basement, you'll find TOPS supermarket where prices are definitely cheaper.

As it is relatively quite new and very accessible, we'd still come back, especially the pool!
