We are regular customers of Sofitel and have stayed in a number of luxury hotels in Bangkok before. The new Sofitel So beats them all - excellent design, central location, and outstanding service made this a wonderful stay. Check in was very friendly and efficient; the reception area on 10th floor follows the social connecting theme and offers great views over Lumphini Park and Bangkok. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, again according to themes: Metal, Wood, Earth and Water. Breakfast and dinner options in the Red Oven were excellent - lovely buffets presented with a French touch and a great variety of dishes. We also tried the more formal Park Society on 29th floor which didn't disappoint, but was a bit too expensive in comparison to what it offered. Another plus was the wonderful infinity pool.
All in all this is a true boutique hotel - hip and trendy and nicely designed, but most importantly with very friendly staff and great food options. The best Sofitel we stayed in so far, and one of the best hotels in Bangkok. Well done!
