“Another great 9 days stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Our second stay here with my wife for 9 days. It is still as good as it was. Got a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite. And best of all, they got me the same room which we have stayed previously. Everything is immaculate, check-in was quick and shown to our room in less than 5 minutes of our arrival. Room is still as comfortable as it was. We were there during the Songkran festival, equivalent to New Year's Day in Thailand, and lots of water spraying on the street for few days. The hotel was kind enough to give us 2 pouches to put our personal belogings(mobile phone, passport, etc) from getting wet during the festival. They even explain to us what it is all about and didn't left us foreigners clueless of what is Songkran all about.
Café Clairé's pad thai is as good as ever. However the croissant that I dearly missed has drop the size and quality too. It used to be fluffy and big in size. Now it is small and chewy. I did highlight this to the cafe manager during breakfast. Hopefully they will use back the old recipé to make their delicious croissants. Otherwise, their ala carte breakfast is great.
The concierge was very helpful in helping us booking dinner cruise and afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental hotel (he even make sure we get to sit at Author's Lounge prior in making the booking).
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. A little mishaps here and there can be forgiven as they are ever courteous, friendly and swift in solving the problems. Keep up the good work and a huge thank you to the whole Oriental Residence team in making our stay such a pleasure and memorable one.

Room Tip: Don't forget to ask for a room far from elevator to avoid unnecessary noise. Room is sound-proof...

Spent our last few days in Bangkok here and were amazed by this place! Never stayed in such a beautiful, professional and friendly place. We decided to take the local train system there and had to do a couple hundred meter walk in the midday heat. We arrived very hot and sweaty with everyone looking flash and fancy. They did not judge us at all or no funny looks only smiles and they were very accomodating and offered us cold towels and water before we had even showed our passports or checked in!

Rooms were incredible - had everything and more and could not fault anything. Pool facilities were fantastic.

Fancy a bit of luxury in Bangkok - this is the place!

Oriental residence hotel is a gorgeous hotel with top of the line service. Upon arrival to the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by numerous bellhops who were very helpful throughout our stay. The concierge is a kind man who speaks English well and happily provides great tips for getting around the city and seeing the sights.

The design of the hotel is very elegant. The pool and gym on the fourth floor are amazing and have great views of the city. The pool is very clean and has comfortable lounge chairs and two cute lotus-shaped beds. The gym has top-notch equipment and free bottles of water.

The two restaurants - Cafe Claire and Mondopop - are expensive but has good quality food and service. Cafe Claire is designed like a french cafe and has a bistro and thai menu.

The hotel rooms are very large and have high quality furniture and lovely design. The bed, in particular, is extremely comfortable and soft. We received a complimentary upgrade to a one bedroom after the AC broke in our room. The one bedroom was incredible as it was a corner unit on the 16th floor with breathtaking views of the city. It also had a huge, dream bathroom.

When booking the hotel, I was worried that it would be isolated based on reading other reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is only a few blocks from a BTS station and from a popular street.

If we ever visit Bangkok again, we'll be staying at the Oriental Residence. Staying there was a highlight of our trip!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room and if you can afford it, splurge on a one bedroom.

This boutique hotel was a wonderful experience from an effortless pick-up at the airport, great upgrade to a one bedroom, calm and pristine décor, caring and efficient staff who made the effort to understand what was wanted and provide what was needed. The location is out of the noise and congested traffic, though still fairly easy to get anywhere which the staff organise very well. This matched many 5 star hotels across the globe.

Better maps are needed for thai taxi drivers and the shuttle service to and from Siam BTS would be a better option due to Chit Lom BTS requiring lots of walking to get to most places.

Room Tip: The upgrade available to One Bedroom is a very nice surprise. There is a very good supermarket with...

A lovely, new hotel in a leafy location. Well located within walking distance to the sky train for access to much of the busy city. Across the street from a small shopping mall with ATMs, casual restaurants and a small grocery store. We did not eat the hotel breakfast; but instead bought breakfast things across the street and used the kitchen to make our own quick meals in the mornings.

If we return to Bangkok, we will book the Oriental Residence again.

This is a fairly new hotel and everything is immaculate. The location is perfect, just off wireless road, easy enough to walk to the main shopping direct. In a large city you don't need a hotel with a large selection of amenities - the important things are cleanliness, location, service and breakfast. Which this hotel for-filled admirably - except for maybe the breakfast.

Pro
Friendly efficient staff always willing to help.
Immaculate rooms with a small kitchen area with microwave and cooker/hobs
Great location and pool on the 4th floor

Cons
You are limited to two devices when using the internet, which isn't great especially if you have two phone's, an Ipad and a laptop. They said you need to pay extra for more devices.
Breakfast had limited selection, the buffet was under stocked.

Room Tip: The cheapest rooms contain everything you need.

Dear Daniel-Sarah2327,

We place tremendous value on guest feedback and cannot thank you enough for taking the time to share your experience with us. It is a joy to know that the service has always been stellar – that is what we strive to achieve with every guest stay. As was mentioned about our complimentary internet, unfortunately we would not be able to accommodate every device as nowadays people having an average of three devices per person. We have to ensure we have availability to accommodate other guest as well.

Thanks once again for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.
