“SCAM!! PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE MONEY STOLEN!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night to end our trip in Thailand Trip, I hadn't read the reviews before I booked else I wouldn't have stayed here. The morning we were due to checkout we went downstairs for breakfast, we put the do not disturb sign on the door so that the maid would not clean the room. Once checked out and on our way to the airport we checked our money only to realise $400 had been stolen which was hidden in my backpack why we went for breakfast. Please do not go to this hotel it is a scam when you go for breakfast the maid will enter your room and steal from you, if only I had checked the reviews and also taken all my personal belongings to breakfast with me!!

Our money was stolen by the housekeeper during a very short time we left our room for breakfast after the very first night. Luckily, we put the majority of our pocket money and important documents in the locker. We left some small banknotes in the wallet. The housekeeper managed to take away one 50-euro banknote from my wallet and 500-baht note from my boyfriend's. Bless ourselves lucky or not, she thought she could just get away with it by just slipping her hands into our wallet and only taking one banknote among all others in our wallets in the hopes that we wouldn't notice the loss. Gladly, we did. We contacted assistant front office manager right away regarding to the issue. Instead of compensating our dissatisfaction right away, it took the hotel staffs FOREVER to correct the issue with us until I really had to confront them about filing a police report. We even emailed general manager and our issue had also been ignored. We never got assistance in providing us relevant proof of entry through CCTV camera, which we find this to be really suspicious as other hotels would really cooperate in identifying convicted person by providing any kinds of evidence to help us as their customers out. We seriously have doubts about all the hotel employees were in the money theft altogether as they were not much of any help or even tried to be. It wasn't a big money but the whole principle of running a honorable business in this hotel is totally unacceptable. We got to check out tripadvisor reviews of this hotel during our stay and we were appalled to know that another customer encountered the same money theft issue by the housemaid in this hotel just like us. Luckily, I am also a Thai citizen and do not want to tolerate this malpractice as I'm sure most foreign tourists will not be able to have enough time to fight this issue with the hotel. This place really gives Thai tourism a bad name.

Moreover, our general impression towards the overall hotel staffs is disastrous. It's almost like they pull pug's faces at all times and work like mindless robots. The room is NOT clean. Dust appears in many areas throughout the room. Breakfast is typical and mostly the same every single day. The bedroom part is much smaller comparing to the bathroom area. Anyone who designed the room here must be used to sleeping in the bathroom as the bedroom space is not proportionally right to the whole area. Save yourself a heartbreak and spend your bucks elsewhere. There're better hotels at this price. Or if you'd like to have an adventure in crime like money theft and robbery during your travel, this one is perfect for you!

Room Tip: DON'T EVER, EVER, EVER STAY HERE AT AMORA NEOLUXE HOTEL. If all else fails, never leave the room...

Amora Neoluxe has many things going for it. It is located very close to Sukhumvit, which is one of the 'happening' places in Bangkok. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The BTS Phrom Phong station is a 5 - 10 minutes walk, so you can easily reach other parts of Bangkok. There is the Emporium Mall for those who can't get enough of the malls. There's usually some event or the other happening there. The Benjasiri Park is a nice place to walk around (though it was crowded one day due to the some festival).

The hotel itself is a quiet place, the staff are discreet, and it is a very relaxing environment. The rooms are very well furnished, with almost all luxuries that you'd expect. The air-con is perfect, after a long hot day out roaming around Bangkok. The front desk staff are very efficient, and there is a travel desk to help with planning your trips. The breakfast lacks variety in vegetarian dishes, and taste-wise the food was strictly okay. The hotel exceeded our expectations, and we had a great time in Bangkok.

I stayed 5 nights at the Amora Neoluxe Hotel in Bangkok and overall it was a good experience.

Rooms are a bit on the small side, but you get a big bed and bathroom, plus a sofa area which is great.

The location is pretty good, you need to walk a bit to get to the main road, but it's not too far. And mini-mart is a couple of blocks away.

The in-house restaurant is open to 11.30pm which is wonderful and food quality is very good. I do suggest ordering the Thai dishes as opposed to the Western food.

Pros:
- Nice sized bathroom with bathtub and modern amenities
- Rooms have sofa and desk with free wifi
- In-house restaurant opens late and has decent Thai food
- Reception staff and Housekeeping are very good

Cons:
- Room is a tad on the small side
- Breakfast is not great.
- Hotel is not on the main road (but this is not too bad)
- Hotel roof-top pool is very small and is overshadowed by the neighboring apartment buildings

I would definitely stay here again. It's nice, clean and cozy!

This place is nice for relaxing after having Party at Sukhumvit area. Only 5 minutes to Soi Cowboy and 10 minutes to Nana Plaza. The quality of rooms and restaurant is very good and in a good price relation to the benefits. Good room service food at its best, either in the room or at the pool in 8th floor, next to the fitness center.
Just come here and relax before starting the next party.

Room Tip: Die Nichtraucherzimmer sind zu empfehlen, in der Raucheretage mieft es extrem - auch als Gelegenheit...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights to attend a wedding in Bangkok. The hotel is indeed in a good location and provides value for money.

However, the greatest downfall is the theft of my husbands money from his wallet which was hidden in our suitcase while we were attending the wedding ceremony (from the early morning until the afternoon). It was $110 AUD which is equivalent to 3,000 tbh, not too much but they searched through our personal effects which is quite violating. Upon questioning the management of the hotel, they provided a copy of the key entry log for our room (402) which showed the maid entered three times (refer to my picture attached) while we out of the room. My husband asked the Chinese manager, Luis Cheung why the maid had entered our room three times over a period of around 4 hours and he came up with some lame excuse that it was their policy. Looking at the trend of other rooms, the maid only enters once in most cases. My husband then persisted they look into the matter but he said the maid is an honest worker and to not accuse her of stealing money, he then threatened my husband and said he can "hit" my husband for questioning her work ethics. This is unprofessional and rather upsetting considering the prior reviews are mostly great. We didn't want to pursue it any further because the manager made it quite clear he was not going to help.

Very disappointing as I generally enjoy sharing good experiences with tripadvisor, this is my first and hopefully only negative review.
