“Like a hotel with hostel prices. Highly recommend.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Great reception area, lots of comfortable chairs and good customer service. Good common space throughout the hostel. The first floor lobby has several free computers, a lounge area and is fully air conditioned. The restaurant to the right of the lobby is basic, but if you don't want to venture out, it is nice they have a restaurant. 10% discount on a meal with stay.

I stayed in the female dorms on the 2nd floor which have a completely separate entry. Great design for safety if you are concerned. There are 10 different toilets and sinks, separate from the 10 showers. No waiting to use a shower and very clean. They also have a TV room where you can borrow DVD's and a washer (20 baht)/dryer (40 baht) - 1 hour each.

Great location - close to Central Pier, 2 blocks from BTS Surasek and near main road Silom.

Highly recommend.

The hostel seemed brand-new. It has great facilities, nice bathrooms, a common area with loads of computers, pool tables, ect. The price doesn't include breakfast, however, there is a little cafe on the first floor. The location is good as well, 5min walk to the skytrain station in Silom. The dorm are probably the most spacious ones I've ever see. Great place to stay.

I stayed in the 6 beds dorm. The room are clean. Showers and toilets are very clean and nice. It's not in the city centre, but in a very good position, 3 minutes from the skytrain. I liked the area, and it's just 2 minutes away from the Skybar (expensive, but don't miss it, amazing view). The staff is not friendly, but really polite. I met wonderful people here. The lobby is big with free internet. Wi-fi is working very well everywhere in the hostel. Bangkok is great, and this is a good starting point.
Don't miss the ladyboy working in the lobby. It's crazy, it's thailand!

Fantastic hostel that will be my base in Bangkok from now on. The place is set up like a hotel with a cafe & restaurant on the ground floor as well as 8 computers & internet. I slept in a (huge) 8 bed female dorm which is on a ladies-only floor. The beds are some of the best I've slept in at any hotel, let alone a hostel. Each has a light, 2 power points and a little shelf to put things on, and everyone has a locker big enough for the biggest backpack (BYO lock).

There's a laundry room on the floor (20 baht wash, 40 baht dry) and you can get powder in the lobby for 10 baht. I rented a towel for 50 baht. The bathrooms are some of the cleanest in the land for sure, and never a queue as there are about 12 showers and as many toilets.

Their cafe serves real coffee (espresso) very cheaply as well as smoothies and shakes. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is nothing to fault here. Oh and it's only 5 mins walk to the Surasak BTS.

Firstly i stayed in an 8 bed mixed dorm. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the place. Wifi, cafe, restaurant, bar, terrace, super clean & spacious rooms, tv room with free films, close to BST, nice neighbourhood, great staff & excellent service. Would highly recommend to all & I will certainly be revisiting

I love to stay there again! Me and my friend booked in Saphaipae for 3 nights. The vibrant atmoshere of the hostel energizes you up. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The place is clean especially the bathroom. My bunk bed is comfortable with my own overhead lamp, electric socket, and mini cupboard aside from my own locker. The lobby is a nice place to hang-out. It is loaded with fun things to do like books and magazines to read, a coffee shop that is 24hrs open, free internet, billiards, table games such as chess and different piece of furnitures you can choose to seat on. I enjoyed all of these, on a tight budget :)

This was my first experience staying at hostel and to be honest I was very sceptical. Nevertheless, any scepticism was dispelled literally within seconds of walking into the reception: Firstly the staff are really friendly and really experienced with dealing with all types of travellers, so they are really helpful. We stayed in the deluxe bedroom with twin beds in the females only wing (they have mixed wings too) The room was really cheap costing about £13, best value for money ever! The beds are extremely comfortable! Another feature is the place is incredibly clean, the toilets, showers and the bedroom are constantly cleaned throughout the the day. Cleanliness is a really big thing for me and this place was above standard. Staying here really added to my travelling experience, it has a real social feel as there are a variety of common areas, we were able to make many friends there. There are computers with free internet access and a restaurant which serves very tasty food! I would suggest staying here as you would be able to bounce ideas off other travellers. I think there should be Saphaipae's throughout Thailand!!!
