I have heard and read many positive things about Hansar Bangkok Hotel, and that it has won many awards including the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice 2012. So when my friend from overseas came to town, I urged her to stay at Hansar. Working in the travel industry, she readily agreed; and we discovered that this boutique hotel certainly lived up to its reputable name.
Situated among the prime properties of Rajdamri Road in the heart of Bangkok’s shopping, entertainment, and business areas, and nestled between two hotel chain ‘giants,’ the locally owned and managed Hansar can certainly hold its own. Its location, food, service, and rooms are excellent!
It’s very easy for staff to smile and greet their guests, but when they actually go out of their way to ensure guest’s satisfaction, that’s the test. We had an impromptu get-together among friends the day after my friend arrived. There were altogether 10 of us, and we all gathered (or rather, squeezed) around one table at the bar, chatting excitedly and discussing where we should go for dinner. The staffs were very attentive, ensuring our drinks were served in good time, adding chairs as friends started arriving, etc. etc. We discussed whether to eat in or out of the hotel. Without missing a beat, one waitress suggested the hotel’s Thai restaurant. We told her we want Thai food, we want one table, and a private area because we’re a noisy group. “No problem, give me time,” she says. Within 30 mins, we were promptly escorted to our table. The staff had managed to provide all that we requested. Now serving the food a la carte isn’t an easy task with last-minute preparations for a big group. Nevertheless, the food was delicious, served in good time with no lapse between plates, wine glasses were promptly refilled, and the staff was very attentive and always smiling throughout all our endless demands. To the F&B staff at Hansar, bravo!
The rest of my friend’s and my stay (4 nights) at Hansar was very good. All three meals throughout were taken in the hotel. Not for lack of choice outside the hotel, but the food (including room service) in the hotel was delicious, the choices – though not large – were varied, the prices were very reasonable, and the staff and service - without a doubt – attentive, courteous, and friendly. Excellent!
We stayed in the Junior Suite. It was very nice, well appointed.
