“A quiet friendly hotel away from the bustle of Bangkok”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We arrived at the Hansar early evening after a 12 hour flight, feeling hot & tired but as soon as we stepped inside & were given a welcome drink & cool towel, we immediately felt refreshed. Check-in was quick & our room overlooked the golf course which was a pleasant surprise. The studio suite was VERY spacious & comfortable with a small kitchen & washer/tumble dryer. The mini-bar was free which made a pleasant change - no exhorbitant prices! We ate at the hotel that night as we were too tired to explore the city. The food was lovely & reasonably priced (wine expensive though as is the norm everywhere) & we were able to sit outside as the hotel is down a quiet street & therefore peaceful. Breakfast is fantastic & somehow cosey - no great long queues as in large hotels. The Skytrain is a 5 min walk so able to get to the River & sights so easily. Then after a day's sightseeing, a swim in the pool before dinner. So - the service was friendly & helpful, location great, facilities & rooms fantastic so we will definitely be back! Thank you we loved our stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet as there is little or no passing traffic. Our room overlooked the golf course so...

Stayed for a few days at the Edge Suite room - recommend this room. Its a litle different from your average "luxury" hotel. As soon as you enter the hotel, you'll see a bar/restaurant (ground floor) then make your way up to the reception/check-in desk. It actually felt more like a boutique than a luxury hotel. Overall stay was great, I think all the reviewers agree about its location and convenience. The hotel is located right in the surrounding of real luxury 5 stars (St Regis, Four Seasons, Hyatt Erawan) and just 5mins down the road you will hit the busiest junction with your Central World mall, Gaysorn Plaza, Amarin mall, Erawan, and the famous four faced buddha temple. Again, overall a great stay. Thank you Hansar!

This is a best of breed hotel. Perhaps I am just used to garbage service in Westernized countries but the Hansar Bangkok stands for luxury and service. Front desk staff is extremely helpful and would always hustle to open the front door for us. Do not hesitate to ask the front desk any questions as they are keen to provide useful advice for your travel. The breakfast spread is fantastic. After a day of shopping in humid Bangkok it was nice to take a quick dip in the pool/jacuzzi and then get ready for dinner. Our room was an Urban Suite. The room top tier and did not disappoint. This place had the big things like luxury bed and pillows, luxurious his and hers sinks in the bathroom and the little things figured out, including a usb charger for my phone which I forgot back at home. Being close to the Skytrain made it convenient to get on the train to the Chatuchak Weekend Market! There is also a 7-11 down the street in case you need anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bangkok and we will be back.

Stayed in Hansar after reading all the excellent reviews. And we didn't regret it. We stayed at 'the edge' suite. Kids love the place and the service was awesome. My kids had little gifts from the manager during breakfast everyday. It really brightens up their day. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. The floor is too slippery. My boy fell and hubby nearly fell too. It would be good if its in a separate room. Otherwise, no complains.

I stayed at this hotel for one week. It was my first time in Bangkok and I did extensive research before picking this place. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will use this hotel again when I come back to Bangkok.

Location. This is perhaps the best feature. It's in a soi off of Ratchadamri road so the noise level is lower. But one still benefits from being close to a main thoroughfare, especially since the staircase to the Ratchadamri BTS station is right at the exit of the soi. Within walking distance of the hotel is Central World, a major shopping mall complex. Aside from mall shopping, there are several supermarkets and a very decent collection of restaurants. All this is indoors and air-conditioned, which one can escape to when the heat and pollution of the Bangkok outdoors get to be too overwhelming. Walking on Ratchadamri in the opposite direction, one gets to Lumpini park where there is a collection of street food vendors. This provides an experience that's completely opposite to the one afforded by Central World. Two contrasting facets of Thailand. Finally, using the BTS one can easily get to many important places in Bangkok. In particular, for 25 BHT, one can go to Sathorn Pier, the main Express Boat landing right next to Sapan Taksin. From this pier, Express Boats (15 BHT per trip) go to many major sights along the river. One BTS station in the opposite direction takes one to Siam Plaza, another major shopping and restaurant venue.

Room. Its quality and layout are excellent. I booked a studio suite, which is the cheapest option. Even then, it's very spacious and actually has many features that in my opinion makes it preferable to the more expensive options. First, it's more like a studio than a room as it has a functional kitchen and an excellent front-loading Siemens washer / dryer. I got to Bangkok after two weeks of travel and I did several washes in the Siemens. Very nice feature. I did not do any cooking but I did use plates, knives, and forks to eat fruits. Thailand is justly famous for its fruits and I immensely enjoyed eating all kinds, which could be conveniently bought from the nearby supermarkets if one did not feel like bargaining with street vendors. The rest of the room is luxurious and extremely well laid out, especially the spacious bathroom / walk-in closet combination. Another feature that is specific to these studios is that some of them face out toward the Bangkok Country Club. I sent an email before arriving to request this feature and was glad I did. The more expensive rooms all face inside or toward neighboring high-rises. I am a member of Small Luxury Hotels and sometimes they give upgrades; I am glad they did not offer one this time.

Facilities. The one facility that I tremendously enjoyed was the swimming pool. It's 26 meters long and 1.3 meter deep. The shape is a simple rectangle. This means that it's actually useful for lap swimming. Moreover, being surrounded by neighboring high-rises, it gets quickly into the shade by late afternoon. This gives the water time to cool down so when I swam at 7 PM, the temperature was quite comfortable. Many people complain about this shade but to me, it's a welcome feature. Attached to the pool is a luxurious shower room that's well equipped with towels and other amenities. There is a pool bar. The pool attendants are friendly and helpful. There is also a gym but I did not use it.

Food. The room came with breakfast. It's high quality. The options are many and everything I ate was very good. Aside from the buffet, one can order several items from the kitchen. One can choose to eat inside or outside on the terrace. Service was attentive. Several mornings when I had to leave early, they provided excellent breakfast boxes. There are also two restaurants, one western and one Thai but I did not eat there.

Service. Overall it is excellent. Front desk personnel, concierge, doormen, pool attendants are all extremely helpful and friendly. There is one very very minor complaint: Housekeeping tends to be uneven. It's not that the room is dirty, actually it is cleaned quite well. But on one occasion, some towels were not replenished. Then on two nights, turn-down service was not provided. When turn-downs were actually done, they showed variation. It seemed like different housekeepers did the same service differently. These really are minor points and this variation in service in no way detracted from my excellent experience at this hotel. I just want to point this out to help management can improve so that the establishment can fit its luxury image.

I unreservedly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Studio suites on high floor facing out towards the Bangkok Country Club.

Stayed in an Urban suite in the Hansar for 3 nights having finished a trip through Vietnam and Cambodia. The service was exceptional from start to finish, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, great food by the pool and both restaurants also served amazing food.
The location is perfect for the 2 min walk to the BTS and your one stop away for Siam paragon, the hotel is located just behind the Four seasons and St. Regis so its very central.
Can't wait to stay again in the future as i wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bangkok.

Room Tip: The higher the urban suite the better for that amazing vista of Bangkok's skyline!
