“Downtown luxury for international travel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This is a well-appointed hotel set in a tower where the lower floors are used for business. as a result the rooms and public areas have good views over the city (and British Embassy). The pool in particular has an excellent view over the city and has a bar for cocktails. The suite was excellent; very spacious with loads of storage space and a good bathroom. The Apple TV was OK and wifi free. We used the hotel as a base to visit the temples, snake venom centre and the shopping malls. The Skytrain stop is just 5 minutes away but Bangkok traffic can be good or a nightmare if you choose taxis, especially in a downpour at rush-hour! The restaurant was fine, if a bit expensive and we preferred eating out in Thai restaurants or the Cafe Jardin on the ground floor. One criticism is that the cuisine is "International" with a nod to the middle-eastern market with very little Thai cuisine and no Thai wines. This was disappointing. Beware taxi drivers to the airport. Concierge arranged for a 'metered' journey, the driver then wanted a very high fixed price. We agreed on half his quote (still generous) and he tried to add a surcharge at the airport!

I stayed here for business twice and the level of service received really is fantastic. There are plenty of places to eat, though there aren't many guests which means eating in the restaurant can feel a little bizarre, particularly in the evening.

The room I had was on the 25th floor and was a brilliant suite, though as noted in other reviews, the attention to detail is not as good as other hotels I've been to. Overall though the quality was good.

The gym is tiny though; I wouldn't expect to be able to have a normal workout during your stay.

I also wouldn't say there is that much for families to do, even in the area. The location is very safe and is surrounded by Embassies so there is a constant security presence, and there are shopping malls close by with plenty of places to eat.

Overall I would recommend the hotel if you want somewhere that's safe, reliable and friendly. It may not be the cheapest however.

Room Tip: Higher up helps as there are some building works going on in the area.

There are much better hotels in Bangkok for the same(or less money). First off, the car park is so tight it takes massive concentration to drive inside. It was designed with millimeters to spare! I parked and had a few bags of luggage. I asked the car park security guy if we could get some assistance. Whoever answered his radio didn't think that maybe I could hear! "Tell the customer to wait in the car park" Check in was also rather dull... train your staff to smile and be polite! In the room you will find stupid gadgets. I tried Apple TV in 2007 at my home....it was useless then, and it is still useless now! Grainy, jumpy picture and a poor selection of channels...pointless. Then there was breakfast! Buffet, with half of it inside the restaurant and half of it outside! All in all, a hotel trying to be cool, and ending up being hopeless. Top tip.... For half the money and much better stay at S31. For the same money and 100 times better.... Banyantree or Conrad.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Like the hotel overall, convenient location, just less than 3 minute walk from skytrain station. Very nice and helpful staff. Great spacious rooms, comfortable beds.
Only downside is the shower, water pressure was weak and hard to adjust the water temperature.
Breakfast selection was ok but not impressive.

This hotel is nice and well located. It's very close to the BTS station Ploen Chit (5 min walk). It's close to the malls (central world, central embassy, Siam center...).
The swimming pool is beautiful and the swimming pool area a very nice.
Suites are large and well designed. The decoration is nice.
I recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel in the center of Bangkok, very well positioned to visit this fascinating city.
The staff is very friendly and professional and always ready to help.
The room was very spacy, clean and cozy.
One of the best hotels I ever stayed.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side opposite the elevators provide a fantastic view of Bangkok sky line

Staff- Arrived for a one night stay, was greeted by very friendly well-spoken staff who took our bags and escorted us to check-in. We were welcomed with refreshments and advice on the city which was very helpful. All staff were fantastic and spoke great English.
Room - Very clean, spacious and fantastic value for money! Comfiest bed of my whole holiday.
Location - Easy location, came on the train from the airport and it was about 5 minutes round the corner from the station. In the business district a bit far from tourist parts but still doable as it was not an expensive tuk tuk or taxi.
Facilities - Lovely pool and food in the restaurant. ATM on site. Concierge helpful with Taxis.

Room Tip: High floor, better view.
