“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Spent 3 nights here and enjoyed it. Fabulous suite, huge with just about the largest bed I've ever slept in. Bathroom as large as some hotel bedrooms with spa bath and separate shower cubicle. Staff all very helpful and polite. Had dinner in the restaurant by pool one night-excellent. Breakfast also very good with huge choice of hot and cold as well as freshly cooked eggs. Infinity pool was also great-looks right down on the British Embassy! Not a huge area around the pool so I wonder if it might be too crowded if hotel very busy? That said, we would certainly stay again.

“Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Stayed at the Sivatel last year at the end of a family holiday to Thailand. Staff were extremely friendly and professional and treated us like VIP guests even though we were dressed in shorts and t-shirts after getting off the plane from Phuket. The 2 bedroom suite was huge. The bed was the most comfortable I had ever slept in. The buffet breakfast had great quality and variety. Excellent service and coffee. Had a few meals in the Cafe on the ground floor and found the quality of the food and the cocktails to be of a high standard. There is an ATM on site which I found very convenient. The Sivatel is a short walk to the Ploen Chit sky train and close to Siam Paragon and MBK shopping centres. The kids loved the infinity pool (great photo opportunities) and myself and my husband enjoyed a few margaritas on the sun loungers. A welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The Sivatel is well presented and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Have booked in for a week in July this year. Looking forward to it!

“Truly Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

We had stayed at its suite but we would not recommend a stay at this hotel unless you plan to always use the subway as the sole mode of transportation even at night.

Located opposite the British Embassy and near several Embassies including the American Embassy it seemed a security risk and an unlikely location for a hotel. It was unfortunate that there seemed to be a culture of taxi-drivers taking tourists for 'a ride' in Bangkok. This happens on a constant basis even though we had shown the taxi drivers the hotel address in Thai.

On one occasion, 12 taxis and tut-tuts all refused to take us to the hotel as we were only nearby and 1only 5 minutes away by foot.

We had requested to meet the hotel general manager to see if we were alone in our predicament but our request was not met.

The hotel reception had also 'messed up' a last day spa booking with an external party, then asked if we wished to have a spa with them.

The hotel reception service was lackluster and was nonchalant about the taxi problem. The hotel location is also not ideal. Considering all factors including its higher price range, anyone would do better to stay closer to Bangkok centre so that it would not may mar your beautiful vacation as it did ours.

“Perfect treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Absolutely loved this hotel. We were after a month of backpacking around Thailand and were so looking forward to some luxury before our trip home. It was so good to sleep on a proper bed again! The staff are friendly and the rooms are amazing. We got an upgrade which was fantastic, with great views of Bangkok. The location was good too, definitely recommend this hotel.

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

We stayed for two nights at this property just before Christmas. Our room was not ready, so we were upgraded to a lovely two floor suite. The walls, however were really thin, and we had a group of partying tourists next door, which was not very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we had paid for executive (free coffee, etc. all day long), and they were renovating, so that was a waste of time. Room service was generally quite good, although the last evening I think the order was forgotten until we called to ask about it. Location is good, just five minutes walk to the skytrain. Quiet area as you are directly opposite the British Embassy. Seems to be tricky for cab drivers to find though... All in all not a bad experience.
