Rooms are nice, decorated in subtle and relaxed colors. The GYM is ok, clean and not to busy. Price is fair for what you get if booking online. Walk in rates are another story. The location is great for anyone that come to BKK to shop, and who does not? Paragon, Siam Malls, MBK and Central Malls all within a 2 MRT stations reach stepping off at Siam Station. Two stations the other way, this time going off at ASOK station the Terminal 21 is at your footsteps. Skip the breakfast and go outside the hotel, like 15 meters to the left on Ploenchir Rd and you find a small restauant called Bicycle. Have your breakfast there unless you like to see tons of variations of food you never going to be able to eat anyway. Scrambled eggs with salmon is soo divine, and their coffes and bevarages are decently priced and tasty. 6-8 usd gets you a good start of the day....internet use free and works great. If you want something more "upmarket" continue to walk some 300 meters and you come to a 7 Eleven, and next to it a very upmarket coffe shop. If this your kind of water hole. Hey, stop and drink! And all you first timers to Bangkok and Thailand, the street food is not killing you. It is cheap, tasty and available near the Hotel in any direction you may go on Ploenchit and Sukhumvit in the other direction.
So far and until some serious efforts been made into the Square restaurant inside this Novotel's 8th floor, I would rather step out of the Hotel, take a right and walk into Sukhumvit Road and find a feed. For the small bites, grab them at a cost in the Novotel's DEE Bar where the beer is cold, the coffe tasty and the staff are very very sweet and accomodating. A pleasure to be served by the likes of Jonilynn and Irma among others. A happy place and probably cheaper than at your local coffeshop, where ever you are from...Enjoy Novotel and Bangkok....Remember, the more you walk, even if hot as it can be, the more you discover....
