“Great Budget Hotel next to River”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Stayed here for a few nights here and there....consistently good value, clean with all the basics. A great pool right next to the Chao Phraya River...easy to while away the entire day in the (large) pool, just watching the boats and river activity. I'll keep coming back.

Room Tip: River View is best

Arrived 1am in the morning and the Ibis hadd organised transfers to the hotel. Thank goodness. The hotel is modern with much relief, English speaking receptionists. The room was not flash but it overlooked the river (fantastic to pull the curtains and see the old vessels motor past) and everything worked.
We stayed 2 days, really to get our feet on the ground and prep ourselves for the onslaught of bangkok activity. But though the location was not in the heart of say, Chinatown, there was plenty to do and see. A short walk to the river ferry terminal and you're away, across the river or up it to wherever you want to go.
Outside the pool area was brilliant and the water warm and clear.
Budget hotel - excellent value

Room Tip: River views a must Higher up you go, the better the view

Overall service is good but:
1.) the shuttle service is not good because staff make you to wait although time for departure is passed
2.) no pick up service at BTS, knowing that your hotel location is a bit remote, that service is valuable to guests especially during sunny date, rainny date and at night
3.) water leakage from air con outlet during midnight at my room and it is so troublesome, ENG had to come twice to solve the problem. Besides, the ENG staff had unplesant smell...

I'd sooner keep this place to myself. The pool is excellent as it is a proper sized pool. Great location by the river and not too far from the BTS skytrain station. Could do with the pump fixed on the pool and a boat to connect you across the river would make this the perfect location

You cannot go wrong with Ibis. Clean rooms and great staff. Location was good. Had to cross bridge to get to attractions. The pool was nice and the staff was very polite and spoke good English. If you don't want to walk across the bridge you can hire a tuk tuk. Hotel offers free shuttle to BTS.

It's an Ibis and you know what to expect. The location, although on the wrong side of the river for the tourist boats and just south of Saphan Taskin Bridge, is still ideal for reaching all the main tourist attractions along the river.

If contacted, they will arrange for a taxi pick up from the airport. The advantage of this is you know someone will be there and you know in advance what it will cost. No arguing with the airport taxi drivers.

Staff were helpful, but could have been a little more attentive.

Plus points for this hotel. Overall location for sights and Skytrain. The hotel run a shuttle bus to the local station. You have to find your own way back though. Value for money. Meals taken on the patio overlooking the river. Swimming pool. Cleanliness.

Minus points. 5 - 10 minute walk in the heat to the ferry across the river. Staff could be a little more attentive especially in the evening in the restaurant area. Difficult to get a member of staff's attention after 9.30 when they are busy clearing up. Food could be a little warmer - it's in heated containers as the meals are all buffet style.

Most rooms face the river and are well soundproofed, but they do lack storage space if you are staying for longer than a couple of nights.

All in all, a pleasant enough hotel to stay in. You could pay many times more for a room in one of the 5* hotels you can see across the river, but with this Ibis, it really is WYSIWYG. Not pretentious. I would go back.

Room Tip: When booking try to get a river facing room on floors 5 - 7. Floor 7 is the top floor anyway. Anythi...
