“A little oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

I spent 4 nights at this boutique hotel in september 2011. For me it was like going back to my little oasis after sightseeing in the big city of Bangkok. Very clean hotel, nice king size bed, big bathroom, and above all so well situated near sky train (Salat Deng) and metro/subway Silom)...also close to night market of Patpong!!. Free tea and coffee in lobby and a nice little patio. It is a nice find and so affordable....I recommanded it to other travellers I met during my trip in Thailand! Bravo Baan Silom!!

What u read (from the reviews) is what u get. Great location at the heart of Silom business district which is 5mins walk from Sala Daeng BTS. Cheap nice food are of abundance, esp during weekdays where there is a busy food street just outside the hotel. Room is not specially spacious but definitely cosy. Bed is so comfortable that i slp like a baby everynight. Every staff is so courteous and always eager to attend to my every query. N now that there is an english speaking staff at the frontdesk at night is definitely a plus point. Nothing major i can complain about. Only 1 thing: on the last night of my stay, i notice a couple of cockroaches roaming around the lobby. Hope the management can do something about it. N 1 little request: mayb afew more varieties can be added to their tv channels.
Other than these, i definitely enjoy my stay at Baan Silom Soi 3 and it will definitely be on the top of my list the next time i visit bangkok.

We stayed here twice while in Thailand - at the start of our trip and then again at the end. After hearing stories of people turning up to hotels and being told they are closed etc and then taken to crap hotels I was a bit nervous when we turned up after midnight to be told we were being moved... however, my husband spoke to the manager and all was fine. They were overbooked so they paid for an upgrade and sent us to a four star hotel around the corner.

When we stayed for a few nights before leaving Thailand we really enjoyed it. The rooms were freshly decorated, large and comfortable. Great hotel.

Staff were incredibly friendly. Free wifi!

Loved it!

We were booked to stay at Baan Silom Soi 3 twice with a few days gap in between while we travelled out of Bangkok. The first time around we weren’t arriving until after midnight and upon turning up at the hotel were told that it was overbooked and we were being moved to a different hotel owned by the same company. The hotel we were moved to was great however we would have appreciated being advised in advance that there was an issue with our reservation.

The second time round the stay was great, the staff were really friendly and the rooms were very comfortable.

Our top choice when we travel to Bangkok for business or for vacation in the last few years.

Despite the language difference, all the staff were friendly, sincere and attentive.

Always clean, always neat.

Room Tip: If you are unfamiliar with Bangkok, print the location map in both English and Thai.

We have now stayed twice at Baan Silom and both times have been great. It is amazing value for such a brilliantly located and comfortable hotel.

The rooms are definitely not designer or luxury by any means, but are modern and clean with big windows, letting in lots of natural light. The beds are comfy.

The bathroom is fine, although the showers need looking at as they don't work well and are very low pressure. All rooms come with a safe and a fridge which is great.

The more expensive room is not worth the extra money, it is only slightly bigger with no extra amenities.

The location was very convenient for us, with lots of street food and shops nearby, as well as 2 BTS stations and a metro.

The staff are very friendly, chatty and polite, although the security guard speaks no English and when we stayed, was left on his own at the desk a lot (not his fault at all!) but this made checking out and getting our safe fixed a bit tricky.

We would definitely stay here again.

we ( 2 girls) stayed there in august and was apprehensive of the location as it was near chinatown and patpong, but it turned out to be safe and superb.
I agree with the previous comment that the security guard does not speak English, but it was never an issue because somehow with hand gestures etc... we were able to communicate and Thai ppl are polite and always eager to help. we infact asked all our queries to Phil and his aunt and they gave all the tips we wanted. where to shop, when to go, how to go, what to eat.
The rooms were big with wooden flooring, they were clean and water and towels were given everyday. They have a super papaya liquid soap in the bathroom. while the windows don't provide a view, we didnt really spend that much time in the room and so we didnt care. There are two 7/11 on the same street and tons of street food. There is a great supermarket closeby called Top supermarket which has a small bakery and a fresh salad bar and everything else you could possibly need. The hotel is also close to Chong Nonsi and Sala daeng BTS and very close to Patpong night market and tons of japanese restaurants.
While there is no breakfast option, there is a little table at the reception where you cna make tea/coffee and there are bananas. You could always buy some stuff from 7/11 and have it at the lobby. The hotel is strictly non smoking and smoking is allowed only at the open lobby.
I would recommend this hotel to all. It's total value fr money.
The hotel is
