“A Must for Young Travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay in Lub d Siam Square. Though it's pricier compared with the other hostels in Bangkok, what makes this place so perfect is it's location. The National Stadium BTS is literally in front of the hostel which provides easy access to anywhere in the city. Even coming to and fro the airport was a breeze & very easy on the pocket. (Airport Link City Line to Phaya Thai BTS - 45 THB, Phaya Thai to Siam to National Stadium - 20 THB)

Rooms were nicely furnished & sleek looking, staff were always nice & helpful, they have free wifi and computers at the common area for guest use. They also host fun activities throughout the week. (Free snacks on Thurdays, Pub Crawl on Fridays, City Stroll on Sundays, and special activities during holidays)

In my opinion, Lub d's near perfect. I only wish they had a lift. It was such a struggle for a small girl like me to carry my luggage four floors up, and it was even more difficult bringing it down considering the amount of shopping loot we got during our stay in the Bangkok. But even so, I still highly recommend this hostel especially to friends who are up to do some serious shopping! Lud d's the place for you! :)

Room Tip: 1) As I've mentioned, Lub d's near perfect but they don't have a lift. So girls, be read...

When I was told I was going to a hostel I was less than pleased but Arrived at the lub d at Siam Square was surprised at the very modern busy, reception/bar/cafe which had more than enough computers with Internet connection free of charge for customers. Our room was perfect, comfortable and had enough room for our stuff and a very convenient easy to use safe tucked away and secured safely to stow away our valuables. Apparently this hostel was pricey but to be honest I'd happily pay it again for the brilliant service and fantastic location. If it was a must for a down side I could only say it lacked a pool but then your in the middle of Bangkok could only imagine the state it would be in ;)

If you are planning to backpack and travel with the local public transport. This is a good place. Its just below the BTS silom Line. Walking distance to Siam Discovery, Paragon and others. Center of everything.

As a first timer in Thailand, I found it very easy to locate from the airport; took Skytrain & BTS (65 baht). Arrived 10:00 super tired, friendly staff allowed me to check-in early at no extra charge. Accommodation was great value for money, basic but clean. Large locker (big enough for large back-pack / suitcase - you need your own padlock) made me feel at ease as a first time hostel goer. Impressed with key card entry, felt very secure. Varied activities organised by fun staff (and no, its not all pub crawls:))
Would definitely stay again on return to Bangkok.

Really friendly staff, really clean, lovely bed, great facilities such as washing machine, free wifi, free computers for use, cool bar with breakfast. Chill out areas outside the hostel and within the courtyard are clean and welcoming. BTS skytrain right outside. Convenience store and department store with the best food court in BKK just outside. We would definitely be staying here again. Thanks guys

Room Tip: Room 208 (Double with private bathroom) is located right at the back of the building, so you'll...

Had a poor start in Bangkok after amazing wonderful experiences the previous 4 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia and ended up needing to find another place to stay for 2 days as my booked hostel was awful. Had a nice welcome at Lub D Siam - booked the double with ensuite. Lovely sleep and loved the room. Nice vibe.

Room Tip: Cost more than any of my previous hostels in Vietnam and Cambodia but good value - double ensuite. N...

My first stay in Lub D was great and the second was fabulous. Gotta agree with some reviewers that the hostel isn't big on sound proofing but hey, I still slept like a baby.

Stayed in the room with ensuite bathroom and toilet and for the price I paid, I certainly have no complaints. Great place to be if you want to have a no-frills stay and meet some international friends along the way. And unlike most hostels in other parts of the world, the housekeeping crew did a fantastic job keeping the room clean and tidy everyday. Frontdesk guys are definitely helpful and approachable too. Also, National Stadium BTS is just right at the doorstep, though most days I prefer to take a walk down to Siam Square area which is just about a short 5 min walk.

Oh and keep an eye out for the daily activities like a day trip down to Chinatown or perhaps participate in their own version of the amazing lub d race. Who ever says staying in a hostel gotta be sad and dreary?

Room Tip: Definitely get a room with ensuite bathroom/toilet if you are the privy type - comes with Queen size...
