“Without doubt a must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

close to the grand palace this interesting and informative museum is something to visit! good to spend 2 hours or so.. in an light hearted and interactive way facts on the history of Siam are presented, and really present a red tape through the history of Thailand/Siam. with fun temporary expositions, and even though the English explanations are sometimes forgotten it really is recommended to visit!

“Finally! Some Historical Detail!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Given how many temples and historical landmarks there are in Bangkok, I was surprised at the lack of information readily available (unless you want to search Wikipedia on your phone while on the road). The Museum of Siam sated my appetite for some cultural history and presented it in an exceptional format.

The cost was a little high at 300 baht, and some of the information presented seemed superfluous and/or repetitive, but it was certainly worth the visit. I would have liked to see more detail on Thailands political history: wars, relationship with Burma, reasons for moving the city, etc.

“Thai culture through modern media”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Very interesting exhibits, a good and interactive way to learn about Thailand’s days of yore (actually the first human settlements in the region) and modern history, highlighting all major historical events. Not so easy to find, as no taxi driver had the slightest clue where the museum was, and not so cheap : unless you’re a Thai student, a war hero, or in your 70s, the ticket will cost you 300 baths (some kind of happy hour has been reported though). But definitely worth the visit, if you are in a cultural mood.

“Only if you are really into history”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

I am 50:50 with a bit of interest in history but not that much so I thought this was quite interesting but not super interesting. Could have missed it but if you are into history you shouldnt miss it.

“Interesting history ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

A good way to learn a bit more about Thailand's history and people. It's a nice size (3 floors each with a few rooms). As a tourist it cost me 300 to get in which I thought was a little expensive for what it was but still nice to do.
