“Miss this place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

New Siam Riverside is a great midrange hotel in a good location; the staff here are attentive, with an acceptable level of English; the rooms are large, stylish and comfortable and the unlimited buffet breakfast is pretty epic with a huge choice of tea, coffee, juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, honey, cereals, pancakes, croissants, fresh bread, omelettes, scrambled egg, chicken sausage, bacon, fried rice, delicious fried vegetables, toast and more.

The only complaints I have with this place is that the swimming pool area isn't very special, the staff are too polite to deal with disruptive guests and my boyfriend found a rusty nail in his dinner one night. This in particular is a huge let down as the food here is pretty reasonable and we enjoyed eating here on the whole.

The waitress even asked him if he would like to pay for his meal or not - errr, no?

We visited in 2010 when I reviewed this hotel. I had said it was in a perfect position with good rooms at a reasonable price. The downside was the surly, un attentive and generally unhelpful reception staff.
This has now changed and the reception staff are smiley, warm and helpful. (They have even dropped the ridiculous 400 BHT deposit for a credit card room key). So, full marks this time.

Just stayed a day and night in this great small hotel, small bath and no balconys on the 2500THB rooms but great view, coffe, the restaurang is also great with cheap beers in the night and exelent breakfast. Spend some hours with my teenage boy in the pool area and we had great fun,,, will go back in a week with my mum and sister. minus is,,, no BTS ore MRT here... plus is... easy access to the river boats and close to the nice Banglamphu are with lots of fun and food,,also a lovley riverside walk to the castle were u can be lucky to spot giant lizzards... will come back but rent the romm without view next time.

Room Tip: we stayed in 3404,,,

Excellent service, beautiful location overlooking the river and walking distance to the active scene in Old Bangkok, but not right in the middle of it, so it was a great quiet refuge. Fabulous breakfast buffet included.. All good. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: We really liked our balcony room overlooking the street, rather than the river. It seemed more priv...

We stayed at the New Siam Riverside several times during our last trip en route to and from other destinations. The location is great, near Rambutri Street which has a much nicer atmosphere than Khao San Road (also nearby), and has lots of restaurants and street food. The hotel is also near the pier where you can catch the boat to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, or Chinatown. We had a standard room, which was just fine. Once we were upgraded to a superior room which was pretty much the same but bigger. The rooms are clean and comfortable with A/C, TV and a safe. You do need to make a request in order to get your room cleaned daily. There is a good buffet breakfast and a pool which is fairly small and has some loungers and several chairs. There is a good travel agent desk in the lobby where they helped us make some travel arrangements, and they can also book airport shuttles for you for 150 THB per person. All in all, it is a great place to stay in Bangkok.

It is safe, clean, it has a nice pool and adequate garden -nice to sit with your cold beer at sunset and watch dusk fall over the Chao Praya river. In fact, the pool and the garden are about the best bit about this guest-house, as the rooms are about the same like in some cheaper guest-houses. Location of the guest-house is good for being near the busy Banglampoo back-packers quarter, but it is still far enough from the all-night music bars of Kao San Rd to guarantee good nights sleep. There are 2 excellent Thai restaurants serving very good traditional Thai food just across the road from the main entrance: "Hemlock" and "A Good Story" - both extremely pleasant and popular with young trendy Thai crowds.

Room Tip: Virw over the river is very nice

I have stayed here several times over the years and the service is always excellent.
Buffet breakfast is always great, usually lasts me most of the day. Some parts of the room I stayed in were starting to look a tiny bit shabby...nothing serious just like they would need some attention soon, laminate floor starting to lift slightly, ceiling in the shower a little stained. the odd bulb out... no longer has that new shinny feel... still a great place to stay, and the pool is really nice at the end of the day!
They should get the broadband Wifi sorted though! its an extra few Bahts per day and only allows 1 device to be logged in at a time... so logging in and out is a pain if you use more than 1 device!.

Also, the birds WILL eat your breakfast if you leave it unattended!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the roadside are quieter.
