My husband and I stayed here for 1 night because we needed to catch a train. It was located right across the Hua Lamphong railway station and you could use the underground passage to get there instead of trying to cross the busy road. There is a bank next door to exchange your money. The rate was average (29.4B = $1) There are a handful of street vendors on the side of the hostel. Across the street is a 7/11 and other small restaurants and street vendors.
We were able to walk to Chinatown and the Temple of the Golden Buddah (Wat Traimit) in half an hour more or less. Because of the busy street in front, it was easy for us to get a taxi or tuk tuk.
The check-in/check-out was easy and staff was friendly. There is free wifi in the lobby which worked great and plenty of chairs and sofas to sit on. There are also computers available for a small price. Breakfast was nothing special, you're not missing much. We were able to leave our bags in the lobby after our check out time. Also, there isn't an elevator.
We stayed in a standard room for $34/1 night. The room was a decent size for 2 adults and clean. The bed and pillows were hard but it seemed like it was like that everywhere we went in Thailand. The AC worked well. There is no shower door so when you shower water gets everywhere. There was also a fridge in the room.
Overall, this is a great place to stay for a short visit or if you need to catch a train. It served its purpose for us as we needed a clean, safe place to stay for the night while we waited for our train.
