My family and I stayed at this hostel (total of 6 ppl), so they gave us an exclusive room at the back of the building, past the fire exit. The room was large and had a total of 4 double beds, which was more than the number of ppl, which was a bit of luck but also thoughtful on the staff to give us a private room. It had good air conditioning, two showers and two toilets, for exclusive use of that room. Only one sink, though. The only unfortunate thing was that the free wifi Internet did not reach the room, so we could not use our iPhones and iPads... We had to go to a public area or the reception to use it!
The hostel itself was next to another hotel, which had very good Thai dishes (I had a pad Thai for the equivalent of 2 dollars, which was very cheap for what we got.
It is also very close to the Hua Lamphong subway station and also to their Bangkok's main train terminal, which was very convenient for commuting in the crazy traffic of Bangkok. Tuk tusk and taxis were always out the door, for anyone wishing to use them. Two 7-eleven stores 3 minutes on foot made sure we always had fresh drinks and snacks at any time of the day.
Oh, one thing though: there are no refrigerators in the rooms, so we had to buy our drinks from 7-eleven and drink them right away, otherwise they would be in room temperature in 10 minutes because of the always hot and humid weather.
Staff at the reception spoke good English, but the same cannot be said about the girls at the cafeteria at the reception... No English there!
We had a great stay for the buck, which was helped by the convenience of the location of this hostel. Would definitely stay there again.
Stay in the rooms in the building (not past the fire exit) if you need wireless. Don't bring foo...
