“Great location and excellent value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Ramada Hotel and Suites is just a short walk from Sukhumvit Rd and easily accessible on foot or by the hotels Tuk- Tuk. Once you get to Sukhumvit Rd you are just minutes from the Sky Train and Terminal 21 which is a large shopping Mall with many restaurant and shops.

Getting the Tuk -Tuk from the hotel is easy enough, just walk down to the foyer and wait, but only once was the Tuk -Tuk there on our return so this means a 300 metre walk back to the hotel, overall not that far, just watch out for the cars in the street, it is very narrow and cars go both ways with no path for pedestrians.

The hotel has a beautiful pool area with large cabanas and sun lounges. It is a welcome slice of paradise in an otherwise loud and dirty city. Great place to relax, the pool has a couple of spa jets and is long enough to do laps in.

There is happy hour available by the pool- buy one, get one free drinks from 5pm but you will have to go and find a waiter to give your order to.

The rooms are lovely and spacious and beds very comfortable. I stayed in an executive room complete with separate lounge area, work station and large bed with adequate storage space and lovely bathroom. The room also had a mini kitchen with fridge and stove but there were only very basic utensils (2 knifes, 2 forks and a couple of spoons) so I wonder how I would have cooked a meal with no saucepan etc. It didn't bother me as we ate out every night as there are plenty of restaurant options on the main road.

Breakfast selection was great, all the basics and an egg station with chef. Great service even when busy.

I would recommend this hotel to travellers who want comfortable accommodation for a good price in a convenient location. I will say there is construction going on right next door to the Ramada and it was rather noisy from around 7.30am till about 5pm. It didn't ruin our time here but when we were relaxing by the pool it was very loud.

The hotel staff are pleasant and overall I had a good experience at Ramada Hotel and Suites.

We had been to the hotel on 11th and 12th June 2013. We were on our honeymoon and we came to Bangkok after excellent stay at Pacific club resort, in Phuket. Our intention was to roam around the Bangkok for two days and hence we wanted to book the hotel for only night stay.
The hotel stay for us was very pleasant and we got much more than our expectation.
1. Breakfast was awesome.
2. At the time of check in, the receptionist informed us that the Hotel has offered us a complimentary dinner and we can avail the same on any night we want. It was excellent.
3. Rooms were very clean and room service was excellent.

I can not comment more since my stay here was for very short time. However the experience was nice.

I paid around 1800-2000THB for a night at the Ramada Suites hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 12.
I would start by saying this hotel was a spacious boutique style hotel.
Finding the hotel was quite easy, on Soi 12 (right hand side), 5-10 minute walk from Sukhumvit Road. (Not too pleasant in the heat/rain and not much to look at on the way).
I arrived around 2pm and the (fairly small)lobby area was busy with bags and customers. I was told my room was not available yet and to try again at 3pm. Fair enough.
I also noticed the reception staff were not overly friendly compared to other hotels in Bangkok.
Therefore, I decided to pass an hour relaxing around the pool. The pool area and gardens were nice, clean and impressive for a city hotel. Also, a small jacuzzi eased the wait.
On entering my room at 3pm I found the room very large and clean with all the usual amenities, inc: Large King-size bed, flat screen TV, good floor space, desk, modern clean bathroom and safe. The windows were very large with a good city view - (enabling to watch and impressive lightning storm on the night).
The hotel is excellent location for Terminal 21 shopping mall, Cabbages&Condoms Restaurant, Insanity nightclub and ASOK BTS.
The only downside was that the Free Tuk-Tuk to Sukhumvit was not working so we had to walk a fair distance in the heat and rain.
I would well recommend this hotel for the price and location.

In August 2011 we first stayed and the Ramada Hotel and Suites at the end of our month long holiday in Thailand. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return for another 5 nights in August 2013. Second time around this is our verdict;

Good points:

* The manager was very quick and professional in his response to an email I sent him directly requesting two rooms together, while these plans were later changed by us, the effort was very much appreciated.
* Check in was very efficient, at 1pm our room wasn't ready, but our bags were well looked after.
* The Business Suite was once again the most comfortable room we have ever slept in and totally met the needs of our young family. We really loved this room!
* The provision of a high quality cot that our toddler slept well in.
* The swimming pool and its environment is still a beautiful oasis.
* Great little tuk tuk transfer service up and down the soi.

Negatives:

* Waiting 40+ minutes for the pool towels to be replenished so that we could take are toddler swimming at the end of a long day.
* A smaller breakfast selection than last year, with some really weird food choices (potato soup, boiled carrots, lots of raw salad ingredients) amongst the usual cereal, breads, pastries, fruits yoghurt, omelets and Asian selection. Small is fine, but quality is really important when there is less to choose from.
* Variable service at breakfast, some good and some unpleasant with my husband being chastised by a member of staff for asking for cutlery.
* Chasing up service for drinks around the pool area (although one lady, with bobbed hair was a joy to be served by) became tiresome day after day.
* Through no fault of the hotel at all - the noisy building site next door. Due to finish in February 2014, work starts from 7am until dusk and it is very loud and annoying.
* The general feeling that the hotel was understaffed and therefore service lacking.

Would we come back for a third time? Probably not, which is a real shame because I have never felt so at home (or slept so comfortably) in our Business Suite, but we our looking for an overall outstanding experience for our one main holiday a year and sadly on this occasion the Ramada did not provide this.

Room Tip: Get a Business Suite!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in August 2013. It is a great place to stay if you want to see all the sights of Bangkok but also want somewhere clean and peaceful to sleep at night. The rooms were spacious, clean and most importantly fully air conditioned! The staff also were extremely helpful. It is within easy reach of the BTS skytrain and terminal 21 shopping mall (which has a large selection of great places to shop and eat). There are some nice bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and a few spas though we didn't try any of these. It is also really cheap to get to places in the Old City by taxi or tuk tuk (we paid 150 baht). The pool is clean and you can have drinks served whilst you sunbathe. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Bangkok but stay somewhere comfortable.

10 min's walk to Robinson, Terminal 21 and BTS station, convenient tuk tuk service if you don't want to walk. Very near to Lavinia Spa and Monaco Club. Many Korean resteraunts nearby.
Good service, nice pool. Although busy at breakfast, it's not too much trouble.
Nice room, clean, comfort bed and air conditioners. Although next to construction sites, not too much noise. The bath room is clean but a little bit small.
