OK, a couple of clarification first. The overall rating of "Average" from me is due almost solely to the location of the hotel. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy the Nana scene and don't mind walking (in fact, I probably walk 2~3 miles everyday sightseeing in TH/BKK). However, the hotel is so far and deep down Soi Nana/4 (600 meters, according to hotel) that walking in and out became a chore. The hotel tuk-tuk helps when you go out (to Nana BTS station, for example), but not on the way back unless you can call hotel to arrange for pick-up (the service ends at 11pm, anyway). Of course, if you are the type that takes cabs in and out all the time, then it’s a non-issue.
With that out of the way, let's talk about the hotel. It’s a mid-rise building tucked away in a narrow lane at the end of Soi Nana, so there’s no view whatsoever, which is fine. On the inside, the lobby and the mezzanine level sitting area are both very spacious and tastefully decorated. Room and bathroom are not huge, but acceptable for singles or couples. The dining/breakfast room is of good size; breakfast buffet is adequate (there’s even a noodle soup stand). There is a small semi-indoor/outdoor pool, and a gym on top of it, which, is a bit ill-equipped, in my opinion. Overall, the entire property is quite nice and clean, and seems fairly new.
The staff is friendly and courteous, as is usually the case in TH. My only minor complaints are: (1) there’s no hot water (either that, or it’s less than warm) at the bathroom sink thru out my stay (didn’t report since it did not bother me that much); (2) housekeeping took away two small towels which were present my first day and never replenished.
We paid in the US$56 range (including taxes), with breakfasts included.
Bottom line: I would like to love this hotel, but just can’t. Everything about the hotel is actually fine; it’s just the long walk….Probably will not return or recommend to friends, given the many choices out there.
