“Bangkok Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

This is one of the best hotels in the Renaissance (Marriott) chain and one of the better hotels in Bangkok.

Location is very central, next to the BTS and a number of modern, large malls like the Paragon with hundreds of food and shopping choices. Lumpini park is a short distance away, as is the National Stadium and Bangkok jockey club/racetrack. Lots of taxis. Easy to get to and easy to find, even if it is offset from the main road by about half a block.

Friendly, competent reception team, the best combination of Thai hospitality and graciousness with western efficiency. The lobby is not overly large, but is comfortable and tastefully decorated (if a bit jarring), and the bar is conveniently located.

The rooms are very well done, are very clean and are very comfortable. I had a high floor and the view of the Bangkok cityscape was wonderful as the city lit up. The friendly cleaning staff kept the room spotless and fresh even if I messed it up between cleaning and the evening turndown.

The executive lounge is large, well-stocked, and staffed by very friendly and very helpful people.

The beautiful pool is large enough to do lap swims (>20m) and the healthclub is clean and well equipped.

The spa was the highlight of my stay. 90 minute massage with a view of Bangkok at dusk. Very relaxing on a long stressful business trip.

I will stay here again.

Just wanted to write a quick review to recommend this place. Don't do this very often but feel rather compelled as I sit waiting for my flight. Quick stay but.....

Amazing value but very luxurious
Great staff
Super comfy room with a glass bathroom (with automatic blinds) IN the room adding to the feeling of already generous space in a standard (called deluxe) room.
Excellent food in both of the restaurants I tried.
Spa & treatment again excellent value and competently delivered

Errr, emmm, I travel a LOT (business and family) and cant find fault, it's one of those places that's so good you stop being a grump, stop being pernickety and actually enjoy yourself for once!

Highly recommended will return with the family too....

Room Tip: Had a basic room - it was really nice (1710 if interested) - sure the suites are even better.

Stayed three nights here and was looking forward to this hotel and was not disappointed.
From driving up the drive way you know it's going to be a special stay.
Staff very professional without being stuck up. Property is stunning and very high end without the silly high end prices.
Breakfast is awesome with a massive selection.
Rooms are great, we had a king deluxe and are a little tight if you have a rollout bed for a child but you get away with it. We seen the king suite that was impressive, much bigger.
We have stayed at many 4-5 star Bangkok hotels and this is up there at reasonable money.
We will be back!

Room Tip: If you have a child or two get the suite.

We stayed for 4 nights and found this hotel to be the best hotel we have stayed in whilst visiting Bangkok. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they always looked happy and like they enjoyed their job. We had a club room there which included the lounge and this is definately worth doing if you want to make your stay that much better. The staff in the lounge were always so welcoming and after the 1st night remembered our preference of drinks etc. It includes and open bar for a few hours and a fantastic selection of food, both in the evening and for breakfast. The location of the hotel is very central to the night markets, mbk and siam square with a train station just outside the door. The hotel is set back from the main roads so very quiet. The room was very tastefully decorated and well serviced, except I didnt like the pencil in the room instead of a pen. Whenever we visit Bangkok we will be sure to stay here again as the staff made this a much nicer experience in comparison to the normal hotel that we stayed at.

Stayed here for just one night before flying home after a great 2 weeks in Thailand.

Arrived at lunchtime before normal check in and as I'm a gold Marriott rewards member was escorted up to the Exec lounge to check in. Our room wasn't ready so we had a drink and were told our bags would be put in our room while we went our shopping for the afternoon.

The area is fantastic for shopping whether it be high end Designer Brands or cheap copy bags there is something for you within walking distance. When we returned later in the afternoon our bags were in our room on the 19th floor. The room was great with a very comfortable bed and a well equipped bathroom. The view was great too!

Had a meal in the buffet restaurant on the first floor which was a seafood buffet on the Friday night. It had a good selection of food and the prawns were great!

Breakfast for us was in the Exec lounge and was excellent with a wide selection - something you don't normally get in a lounge - even someone making fresh egg Benedict for you!

As we had a late flight out of Bangkok the hotel kindly allowed us to use the lounge even though we had checked out so it was great to have a drink and some snacks before we had to leave for the airport.

A great hotel and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Bangkok.

This hotel has everything you can want in Bangkok. Wonderful modern rooms without being too funky and cold like some W hotels. Great staff who were always available and eager to please. Fabulous location where you can easily get anywhere in Bangkok by Sky Train. Good Food. Awesome Pool on the Roof Top with Great Views and Fitness Equipment. Comfortable bed and extremely clean rooms. Excellent value for money. One of my favorite hotels ever. They do everything well and I highly recommend staying here! Marriott Gold Members are given lots of benefits.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views. Club floor #21 is awesome.

This property was beautiful. the rooms were luxurious: you were able to see into the bathroom from the beds, but there were retractable shades for privacy- very modern. the Marriott beds were heavenly, as usual. if you get a room on a high floor, the view of Bangkok is phenomenal. there is also a rooftop pool, which was also offered stunning views of Bangkok.
