“Column 23rd to 26th May”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

a hotel recommended by my Thai cousin whose friend works with the hotel.

Location:
appox 5mins to 10mins walk to Asok BTS with ready taxi available when one decides to take a cab.
Bring along the Hotel's business card or its location card to tell the taxi driver as many do not know the Hotel's name and location too.

Supermarket/Food:
just right below Column, there is a 24 hours FOODLAND supermarket that is never lack of fruits and food. There is a bakery inside the FOODLAND. Food at TOOK LAE DEE (24 hours) is readily available for midnight souls who are looking for food.

Another bakery, Goldilock is just next to Column.

A coffee place is within 2 mins walk on the left of the hotel, which is closer to Citadines.

Booking/Reception/Room:
We had many emails exchanges with the Sales Rep, Miss Paula. She was a great help with my many demands as I am travelling with 3 kids (1 is an infant). Due to my early arrival flight, she took pain to arrange the room for me.
Paula greeted me at the hotel reception. We were brought to our room which was a Studio Executive and was amazed by the size of appox 62sqm.

The room was clean and comes with toiletries but with fridge without drinks.

We requested for a rollaway bed, that cost 1000baht/night and a Cot which is FOC.

Room comes with Safe, Kitchenette, Washing machine, Dryer, Microwave, Iron and Ironing board.

Bath tub and standing shower.

Breakfast:
the breakfast is average at the Long Table at level 25 and nothing to shout about.

Swimming:
there is a pool at Level 25, same floor as Long Table.

SPA:
there is no spa or massage within the Column.

Transport to & from Airport:
we booked their transfer for both ways. Very friendly driver and with good road experience.

When we arrived at the hotel, just a short walk from Sukhumvit BTS and Metro station, we were greeted with a refreshing drink and happy reception staff. Once checked in the bell boy took our luggage and brought it to our room on the 39th floor (we requested a room high up with a view).

When we got to the room we had been upgraded from a studio apartment to a one bedroom executive suite. The room living room/kitchen was huge with an amazing view. The bedroom was also big with a king size bed and a balcony with amazing views again. The bathroom had both a bath and walk in shower, everything was top spec.

The infinity pool on the 32nd floor was the perfect place to relax after walking around the temples all day with a great view over Bangkok.

We had a couple of cocktails at the Long Table restaurant which were nice, about £6 each.

The breakfast at the Long Table was nice with plenty of choice, we didnt eat there at night unfortunately.

This is a great hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a room high up with a view

Excellent property on 16th sukhumvit road, exactly 4 min walk to Asoke station,Hotel Rooms are spacious and well maintained with washer/dryer,cooking option, cutlery etc.All rooms have wooden flooring. we travelled with 2 kids, during checkin they immediately upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel has a pool on the 25th floor and a Long table in the restaurant for dining.Breakfast choices are limited but good. Foodland adjoining hotel is open till late at night, it has lots of choices for eating as well as a supermarket inside..Terminal 2 mall is just next to Asoke station.Lots of indian restaurants nearby asoke and Nana station (just next station from asoke).Recommended

I stayed here for a business trip and was impressed with the size of the room and nice kitchenette. The furniture in the rooms was basic but clean. The kitchen facilities, were new and modern. Good business location and conveniently located near the office where I worked. Breakfast was basic but good. Did not try the gym or pool but the bar on the 25th floor had great views of the city as did my room. The staff were pleasant and the price was quite good. For a business hotel, I would give it 3.5 stars.

I normally stay here for business (as I will do next week again), but in April I stayed here with my family. The rooms are great, the kitchenette is a plus, especially when you travel with children. I also like it that there is a 24 hour supermarket and pharmacy next door and that Starbucks is only a few minutes away, as is the skytrain and the shopping mall.

This time it was not as clean as it usually is. Maybe the cleaning staff had a bad day? the kitchen was not super clean and there was still rubbish from the previous guests in the bin in the kitchen. The fridge smelled awful. Maybe the previous guests put durian in there or something.
When we wanted to use the dishwasher, it turned out that there were no diswasher tablets available and it took a very long time for us to get a tablet and then we were only given one.

Nevertheless, the breakfast is fine, and in addition to the buffet you can ask for eggs cooked to order without extra charge.
I agree with another reviewer that the pool is hopeless and I also really would like to see some investments in the gym, which is just as depressing as the pool.

But for me the location, the space of the room and the service of the staff more than make up for this.

So.... see you next week!

Been here three times and I always amaze with its big spacious room!!!! It is located near to Asok BTS Station (Sukhumvit Line), Benchakiti Park (a view from my window), Terminal 21 and surely Food Land. Finding various kinds of foods never be a problem here. It takes only 10-15 minutes walk from Column to Cabbage and Condoms (my fave restaurant nearby) or Rang Mahal (Indian Restaurant inside Rembrandt Hotel). This hotel is also famous for its cozy modern style Long Table, a place where guests can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Room rate is 2100 Baht for single room/night including breakfast, I reckon it very reasonable price for such a well equipped hotel.
