I spent three nights at the Baan Hualampong Guest house, I booked online and had a quick reply to say thankyou and i`d be expected. The directions were a little unclear from the the main MRT station and the Map also unclear. It was litterally 300m across the road and 2 hundred to the left.if you go look for the fancy coffee shop on the corner then follow the road left until you see an allyway,There is also another Guesthouse opposite called my place our your place, anyway once youve found it its easy to find again, China town is only 35 Baht in a metered taxi and silom rd or the MBK is only around 75 Baht. Of course the reason to stay at the Baan Hualampong is then you buy a three day MRT pass for 120 baht and travel all over for cheap. Be aware the MRT closes at midnight and the last one from Lumphinni is 11.45 so you can watch the boxing and still get the MRT. I had a single room with a fan which was cool enough although the bed was a little hard for me, there is a full option of rooms available, aircon etc,Of course at around £4 a night i shouldnt be moaning. The Chap running it is called ARt and speaks perfect english and will tell you anything you need to know. You can buy beers around the corner and take them to the roof terrace which is very pleasant and i admit i fell asleep up there, not all night though. well after spending 3 nights in kaosan rd before the guest house,i can say if you want some quiet and excellent access to the city you wont go far wrong than to stay in the Baan Hualampong.
