“aaaaaahhhhaa!! Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

Its simply salvation for a south Indian like me!!
After eating bread and pizzas for a whole week, it was like Monsoon rain to my parched platter!
Crispy vadas, Yummy dosa! And simply delicious rasam and curd!
You have really missed something in this big city if you haven't visited this place. Its totally not visible from the main road but locals will tell u the way :) enjoy the taste of authentic India there!

“Tamil Nadu, good value great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Just got back from Tamil Nadu, 75m down Silom Soi 11. Nothing else really down this Soi, so persevere, a reward awaits. Basic decor, friendly staff, wonderful flavorful and value for money Indian food. I had the vegetarian special, 150 baht, and was stuffed. (Not normally a vegetarian...) Worth the trip.

“Tamil Nadu restaurant - Silom Good Indian Food.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

I visited Bangkok for vacation this month, due to language issues couldnt move to much places and don't even know where to stay... finally got to know about a Indian guy who has set up a hotel in Silom - Bangkok.... Finally reached there with loads of pain and met Mr. Ansari (Michalle) who is one of the best guide and quite understanding/good human being !! he helped us with the food, route, booked taxi, gave us room etc etc etc in a very moderate rate where you don't get it elsewhere.. Even in India if you going to ask for one more plate they gonna charge, there in his hotel you eat what ever you want but he will not !! he is in Thailand from 1982.... Infact i was shocked to see A.R.Rahman had visited his place in 2008.... If you need of any good Indian food in Thailand in cheaper rate and best taste visit Tamil Nadu restaurant - Opposite to Hotel Narai Silom, Bangkok...

Regards,
Arunkumar Vijayan

“hidden gem-a taste of tamilnadu in bkk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2009

we stumbled upon this restaurant-apparently its been around patronised by hungry tamils away from home, seeking comforting vegetarian and non vegetarian fare. we were not disappointed. the flavours were very authentic; we tried idlies, dosas-full marks. we also tried the thalis-however jasmine rice in an indian thali didnt go too well with the curries, which were great. recommend the fish curry.
the owner also deals in semi precious stones besides operating a travel agency. he is a mine of information on bkk. the service was friendly-it was like being in a neighbourhood restaurant in some town in tamilnadu.
its small however, so if you dont go early you'll have to wait.
