Stayed 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit.
After a long 15 hour journey from France, was greeted by a warmful "bonjour" and a welcomed cup of fresh tea. Check-in was a breeze and got room key in a short time.
Room was on the 28th floor (contacted the hotel prior the arrival for a room at highest floor) and large enough for 2 persons with 1 huge comfortable bed (slight hard bed). At this height there is no noise issue coming from the permanent traffic congestion on Sukhumvit road.
Room has a large bathroom with a separate bathtub, a large shower cabin with rain forest head and Occitane products. Separation from the room and the bathroom was actually a transparent glass; There are curtains for shy guests who need privacy.
This is an in-room safe to keep valuables safe; it is too small to fit a 15" laptop in though. Fully stocked fridge, no kettle nor coffee/tea available in the room.
Thanks to Accor's Le Club loyalty card was granted access to the Club Millésime benefits and Club Millésime floor (on the 31st floor). Complementary soft drinks available all day long, tea in the afternoon with a selection of pastries and happy hour cocktails in the evening with a selection of appetizers. This was a nice place to rest after a tiring day in the heat of Bangkok.
Also had a complementary internet access fast enough to surf and check email. Faster internet plans are available at additional charges. Breakfast at the Club Millésime had a selection of exotic fruits and western pastries but the breakfast at the restaurant "Voila" on 2nd floor offers a much larger choice: continental and asian breakfasts, exotic fruits, beads and french pastries…
The hotel has great location on Sukhumvit road between Nana, Asok BTS and Sukhumvit Metro stations; less than 5 min walk from both stations. The hotel can be reached from Suvhanabumi airport in about 45-50 mins using Citylink train from airport to Prom Phrom BTS station (around THB 45) and Prom Phrom BTS station to Nana BTS station (around THB 31). The short walk from Nana to the hotel can be a bit tricky with luggage as the one has to walk through the street market.
Big asset to the hotel was its staff. Found them professional, polite and very friendly: from staff in the lobby, at the Voila restaurant and at the Millésime club. They greatly helped to make the stay very enjoyable.
Some minor points - not big issues though: carpet in the room #2802 looked very tired with a lot of stains, some areas under the room desk and in the bathroom needed to be cleaned, music at the pool and the Millésime club was slightly loud.
