“Decent food but terrible service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

This is the second time I visited this restaurant and it is safe to say I won't be coming back again. I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant but the service was so terrible that had I not been so hungry and tired to find another restaurant, I would have just got up and left. The restaurant was undergoing some renovations, which is great to know that they want to improve their dining atmosphere but what I couldn't understand was there were other indoor dining areas but the hostess keep seating people next to the construction which reeked with paint smell. We saw there was another indoor area and asked to be seated there. The hostess didn't say anything so we asked someone else if we could be seated there.

Once seated, we were asking the waitress a couple of questions regarding the menu. At first she had no expression on her face, after a while, she started to look annoyed. She would either nod or shake her head to answer our questions but some of our questions actually warrants a response other than yes or no..

The food itself was decent. Nothing to rave about but good enough for a decent dinner. However, the order in which the food was served was all messed up. We had our curry and stir fry vegetables first. We asked for our salad and cold appetizers to come first, but it came at the very end. We had to ask for rice 4 times before getting any.

The only reason I didn't rate this restaurant terrible is because the food is decent and the other waitress who attended to us near the end of our meal was much more polite and friendly. All in all, compared to our first visit here last year, I feel this restaurant has greatly deteriorated and I won't be suggesting this place to any friends any time soon.

“Good Thai, if a bit run down”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

Stopped in for lunch on my last day at recommendation of hotel. The food was very good, but service and atmosphere not what you would expect. The menu is large and full of good taste treats but no bargain.

“Good food , priced little towards north.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

On way back from Thailand we stopped by Mango Tree at Suvarnabhumi Airport International departure for grabbing a quick lunch. We liked the food , service was satisfactory and fast.

On flip side, menu was slightly over priced but that shall not stop anyone from stepping in as airport food joints are always little expensive. Shall visit again.

“Mango Tree Thai food as it's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

The Mango Tree restaurant is a bit hidden in Silom Soi 6 but every taxi will bring you there for almost nothing. Don't miss the opportunity to try the food and enjoy the excedllent service. The reaturant served me and my friends a really good Thai dinner for a reasonable price. The service was caring and the drink selection was good too. What more could you get from a restaurant? From now on it will be on my list of favourite places to eat in Bangkok.

“Good but not great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Whilst there seem to be very many restaurants in Bangkok it seemed hard to find ones which had consistently good reviews. There are probably many that serve great food but have rather tacky decor and ambience. We were looking for ones which had a good atmosphere as well as good quality Thai food (which we both love). The Mango Tree was a good experience - there is live music and dancing, which adds to the atmosphere. We sat outside as it was not too hot/humid in early March when we went. Service was okay, and food was good, but not outstanding. You could do a lot worse though and overall we thought it was good value.
