“Great Value n Best Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

For a middle range hotel in Bangkok area, Swan Hotel is the best choice to stay. Located in Charoen Krung street give a plus point and close to anywhere. Few minutes walk to the pier that will take us to the Chao Phraya river transportation experience, less than 7 minutes to the busy night life along the Silom Soi, just 11 minutes walk to Lumphini Park and more and less 15 minutes walk to the skytrain. The room was quite big with a standard amenities, clean, the staff are very helpful and the pool is the best spot in this hotel after a long hot day especially during March-April. Highly recommended this hotel for it value and location ^_^

Room Tip: choose the rooms with pool side view!

Great staff. Comfy big bed. Stayed in a double room. Pool is a plus after being out in the oppressive Bangkok in may heat. Tv has some English channels. Al jazzera bbc and a movie channel. Stayed here at the end of a three month trip. Anyone who poorly rates this hotel needs to adjust their expectations of Thai mid range hotels.

Two friends and I just returned from a week in the beautiful country of Thailand. We stayed the first three nights in The Swan in Bankok. The Swan is a two story Hotel that is very well maintained and has incredible surroundings. The room I stayed in was 111 on the first floor. This property has no elevators but really is not a hinderance unless you have a physical health issues. The room was a king size room with the basic anemities for your average Thailand property. My view was pool side which made it convient to check on the patrons at the pool. The pool is absolutely beautiful, clean and immaculate. We met the owner of the property and he went out of his way to accomodate our request. The location is convient to the river and several small shopping areas. The staff during the day is incredible, however, after midnight I would caution anyone about making any plans with the front desk.Every night we came in late employees were either dosing or totaly asleep.I would recommend considering this property for the price and location in Bankok.

Room Tip: The breakfast at the Swan was included in the room price but dont expect your normal Thai selection...

We have stayed in many hotels in Bangkok, but this one was great. The staff were very good, the location was good if you wanted a quite location, but close to the river and short 15 min walk to the skytrain.
The pool was always very clean, and never really busy due tothe size of the hotel.
The breafast was basic, but okay, and the rooms were big, but a little dated. We would stay again, nice hotel.

Great place for one to two nights. If you stay longer then i wont advice it. Location is far from everything. BTS station taksin is 25min walk quiet far if you had long day. Far from the city center and lost of thai hustelers trying to sell you package tours. Room was very depressing and toilet very small. Very basic but just enough for a quick stop over. Price is good 1200 per night basic room. This place is a good location for people buying juweleries because this area is the best place for it. Not really a place for sight seeing. No elevator so if you have heavy stuff i'm warning you. Breakfast was great for the price you pay and not always the same type of breakfast.

Room Tip: Try to take one with the balcony but price maybe higher.

During a 6-week stay in Thailand we used this hotel as a base returning 4 times. It has basic facilities but for the price it is well worth the stay. The staff were friendly, almost a family atmosphere amongst them. Reception was helpful in sorting out all our queries. Close to the river ferries, sky train and bus routes. Contrary to other postings we found the breakfast to be adequate. It is not a huge spread but is just right to start the day. Will definitely stay there again

We were pleasantly surprised to see how nice this hotel is (after having several experiences where the hotel was not as nice as the brochure). Our room was nice, with tiled floor, the comfiest bed we had during our whole trip in Thailand, a spacious room, large closet to fit our backpacks, air conditioning (although at the time it was leaking water onto the floor - they were working on fixing it). We were only here for 2 nights but it was very pleasant.

The staff are very friendly and are definitely eager to please. Their helpful service was greatly appreciated. The hotel restaurant has great food and amazing service.

It is great that the pier (called the "Oriental Pier) is only a 2 minute walk away - we took a longtail boat down the Bangkok canal to the Grand Palace and Reclining Buddha. The trip only cost 15 baht (which is about $0.50 CDN). This was much easier and cheaper than if we had tried to take a taxi through Bangkok to the same location.

The downfall is that this hotel is away from the "hub" of Bangkok. There is not a lot of shopping within walking distance, unless you like gem and jewellry stores. Luckily, the huge MBK Center (Bangkok Mall) is less than 4 km away (I think it said 3.4 km), and cost us 55 baht ($1.85) by metered taxi to get there. Beware of the tuk tuk drivers at the mall trying to charge 200 baht to go from the mall back to Swan Hotel.

The only downfall for our room was the hot water wasn't working, and we didn't discover this until we were getting ready at 1 am to go to the airport to go home. We are sure the staff would have fixed it immediately as the service there was great, however it definitely would have been nice to have a shower before we left. We thought this place was great and we would definitely stay again!
