“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013 via mobile

For the price, I think you'd struggle to find a better hotel. 5 minute walk to Lumphimi MRT which opens up the whole city. 7Eleven shop right outside for basic supplies, and some nice local restaurants and massage shops on the surrounding streets. Clean and comfortable hotel...I'll be back.

It was a nice surprise to find this hotel and for such a cheap price too.
The only drawback I could find is that it is a bit away from all the action but with the subway and skytrain all within easy reach.
The room was OK but a bit small, especially closet space was almost non existent!
And the great thing free WiFi not like a lot of hotel that charge for it. Will stay here again for sure.

Room Tip: If you take there cash back offer you can get many thing free

Considering value for money and if your on a budget, the Ibis global brand lived up to all expectations. It is well connected, sports solid 21st century security, (plus there are cameras everywhere you would expect them) comfortable, clean, quiet and well appointed rooms. This particular site is located in a very safe part of Bangkok, a business district by day, leisure centre by night & close to many major embassy's. The hotel provides good quality foods via buffet & of course, food any time by order and bar. I found the staff to be very friendly, (this is the land of 1000 smiles) responsive & helpful. There is a 24 hour 7/11 right outside with a number of great local restaurants within a few strides from the hotel lobby. If you don't like the ever present hassles that sometimes come along naturally with Thai cab's & tuk tuk's, you can also hop down to the train & sky train which are nearby in Lumphuni. The site is easy walking distance to nearby Lumphini Park, which truly is an oasis of green and tranquility, seemingly in another world compared to the hustle & bustle Bangkok noise and traffic. The park is a good spot to chill out in downtown. The Ibis Sathorn is as you would expect a great place for family, kids, and people of all tastes and colours with no hassles. I really could not fault it for the coin they ask, no place is perfect right ? no matter how much you are willing to fork out for a nights kip. The Chao Phraya River is within easy reach by taxi, tuk tuk, or even a good walk, if your fit enough and can tolerate the heat. This is a big plus for the hotel as the River meanders through the heart of the city and from a tourist's perspective, it is a gateway to many other exciting places. There is a awesome Thai Kickboxing venue (Thailands National sport) within walking distance, also in nearby Lamphuni. Massage venues abound, as you would expect.
The hotel has a tourist desk where a friendly local Thai (multi-lingual) is more than happy to recommend and book tours that pretty much cover all the hot spots you would want to cover while enjoying your stay in the city and greater area and at a reasonable cost.
Overall, a thumbs up from me.

Room Tip: The rooms here are standard Ibis quality, par for the chain.

It was just average based on my experience. Let me start with sth positive.

Location is my fav. The time it took from Lumphini MRT to the hotel was a bit longer than I thought, but it's still in walking distence (abt 15min-walk). There is a 7-11, some local restaurants and several small massage shops in the Soi(lane). Turn to Rama IV, the main road has many choices of street food. Grab some on the go so you won't find the way to MRT so long. Take one stop to change BTS in Silom, where also got a night market.

I guess MRT and BTS must be expensive to the locals, no wonder that the trains never get crowded and the traffice is always so busy.

The price is surprisingly low (under 1000b) and that's basically the reason I chose it.

The room is very quiet. Almost no noise from the fridge and air-con. The bed is a bit soft.

It would be a good experience if our fridge worked well at the begining or the engineering staff came in with his shoes took off. We brought our own slippers to keep the room clean, hope the staff can pay more attention to details in the future.

In our last night stay, the key card was missing from the card slot as we return. The front desk explained that maybe housekeeping took it away but I felt rather unsafe and confused. If you want to safe the electricity just put it elsewhere, seriously why did you take it away?

Last issue I forgot to mention upon check-out, the hairdryer didn't work properly. You can see the red light as you push the button but it's not working.

Room Tip: We stay in Rm301, very quiet (end of the corridor), bright but facing directly to a wall (wont be a...

The Ibis standards with a small but comfortable and clean room.
This hotel is well situated in a little street, close to an underground station. There is also a 7 eleven and some local restaurants just on the other side of the street.
We experience the Breakfast during our stay and it was quite ok for the low season.
The reception always help us to book a taxi or to advice us during our stay. We also had a very fast check-in and check-out even they had some groups.
I had a good sleep there and it was worth the price paid with the low season promotion.
