“One Bedroom Suite was huge but we had some issues”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

After a very enjoyable stay in August 2012, we decided to return to Tenface for 3 nights. However, this time our stay was not quite enjoyable. Once again, we stayed in a one bedroom suite, which is absolutely huge with a decent view of the Bangkok skyline. The size of this hotel room is second to none-almost like a small apartment. However, shortly after checking in, we began to notice some problems. Firstly we noticed the room hadn't been maintained very well-marks on the wall, a few stains on the carpet and writing on the room service menu. Nothing major but just not as nice as months ago. But the major issue we had was the sudden strong smell of cooking (fried food and fish) that appeared in our room, which we traced to the air conditioner in the living room. It was really strong. When we told the front desk, they sent someone up with some air fresher. When we inquired as to the source of the smell, we were told that the room opposite us was in fact a serviced apartment and the smell was coming from their cooking. When we requested another room, they quickly found one on another floor for us. This room didn't have any cooking smell issues, however it did smell slightly damp, and we later discovered that the bathroom had an issue with bad smell coming from the drain (very common in Bangkok but not what you would expect from a new boutique hotel). Since it was contained to the bathroom, we didn't bother complaining this time as we didn't feel like moving again (plus we knew the hotel was quite full). We feel like the staff did their best to help us during these problems.

Positives:
-Friendly and helpful staff
-Free 24h tuk tuk to local areas (they would also pick you up if you call them)
-Massive rooms with separate living room
-Big balcony
-Close to good restaurants and cafes (I would highly recommend Baan Glom Gig which won Thailand Tatler Best Restaurants Award 2011)
-Free micro SIM card and one-day pass for BTS Skytrain
-Comfortable bed and pillows
-TV in the bedroom

Negatives:
-10-15 minute walk from Ploen Chit BTS station
-Issues with smells
-Rooms are a bit dim
-Loud AC
-TV is a bit small with average selection of channels
-Rooms haven't been maintained very well
-Room cards didn't work well for lift or room door
-Expensive room service (though the selection and quality looked quite good)

Room Tip: Ask for a floor without serviced apartments to avoid smell from their cooking.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Living room was big with 2 nice big rooms as well. However there was only one room with a bath tub. Air con in the entire apartment was great, cold enough.
Service from the hotel was cool, 5 star standard. Location was abit too far in, is scary to walk in the dark, but the hotel provided 24hr tuk tuk service and pick u up at the junction. Seriously cool about this. Once at the junction its about 15mins walk to centralworld and the BTS station.
Overall this hotel is pretty cool.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite for a one night stop over before flying out of Bangkok (which cost approx 2800 Baht). The place was impressive right from the beginning - dark and industrial on the outside revealing a boutique chic inside.
It was a little difficult for the taxi driver to find (despite us giving him the full address in Thai and English), being in a location that is hidden down a side road from the Soi Ruamruddee, but this added to the feeling of exclusivity of the hotel. It also has the added benefit that the street outside is not congested with people or traffic despite being very close to the Sukhumvit area.
Upon checking in the hotel presents you with a 'heart box' which contains a complimentary SIM card, a BTS sky rail one day pass, and various info cards on Bangkok (to pass to taxi drivers to assist getting around the city) and additional toiletries (to those provided in our room). All the literature in the room referred to a preloaded iPod nano but our heart box didn't contain one. Given that we now had a 3G SIM, and therefore access to whatever online resource we needed, the lack of iPod nano was no issue.
Our suite was very spacious and comprised a bedroom and separate lounge area each with sliding french doors to small balconies overlooking the city.
The bed was extremely comfortable and was easily the best nights sleep we had whilst in Thailand!
The bathroom was clean, spacious and functional with a powerful shower and separate bath.
On checkout the hotel kindly stored our luggage for the day and gave us a complimentary lift to the BTS so that we could set off to explore the city. They also booked us our taxi to the airport when we returned for our bags.
The value for money is second to none and we will be definitely staying here again if we ever were to return to Bangkok.
Great customer service and a great stay!

My friends and I stayed at the 2-bedroom suite in Tenface, Bangkok from 1 Feb to 3 Feb 2013. We were at room 2501.

Tenface looks exactly how it does on the website. Our trendy 2-bedroom suite is HUGE by any standards. We have a working kitchen, a dining area, a living area, 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathroom (bathtub and shower!). Housekeeping works very hard to keep the place spotlessly clean.

The hotel is located at the end of a residential area; its a very quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. It can be quite a walk if you decide to walk to the nearest BTS station. Do make use of the free shuttle tuk tuk service provided by the hotel FOC; its very convenient and you do not have to wait long! Some cab drivers might not know where the hotel is located so you might have to ask 2-3 cabs before you find one who knows.

Due to changes in our travelling party, we were in contact with Tenface prior to our stay and their replies to our queries were always polite and prompt. We have asked for Tenface to place an extra bed in one of the bedrooms and they did. It was done even before we check-in! Thats a plus in my books!

The biggest and most important thing about Tenface is the customer service. During our short stay, they were nothing but attentive and provided good information. The extra bed request was one example of the strong customer service. When we requested for ice; they brought us a cooler box of them. When we wanted information about where to find the best bargains for retail therapy, they told us all the local hotspots and one of their staff, Nit, even drew us a map! Nit was probably one of the most earnest hotel staff I met - hes very sincere and patient in answering our questions too! A couple of other staff deserve the special mention too - Mine and Ray. Kudos to the team at Tenface!

Last but not least, there are always people stationed around the compound of the hotel throughout the night. Not that the area is unsafe or anything but having people around always ensure the extra peace of mind for guests putting up at the hotel!

It was overall a very good stay at Tenface!

The hotel is cool, eclectic and delivers 5 star customer service.
The front desk arranged for ring side tickets to a Thai Boxing match.
Polite, friendly, and so keen on helping. I'd stay again in a heart beat.
The rooms were huge as well. Young travellers will LOVE this hotel.

my second visit to Ten face ! and it bets the first one ! the staff remembered me by face .. very friendly , very helpful. young , energetic and professional. cant get over the fact that they drop you to the local sky train by a benz! Or a crafted Tuk Tuk! concept space based on the demon god Ravan( god with ten faces). simply asian chic . designer . your room is 40 sqmts with living and sleep separate.. that takes the cake!
food was not so great... though...
you get a special Bangkok kit with a sim card, day pass for the sky train ! thats a wow! well thought of.. location is a bit at the rear and is not street accessible - but the benz makes up for it! also they pick you up from the main street and bring you in. completely spoil you
you have to stay here!! every time
it may not be so pocket friendly in peak season as compare to other hotels - but the other hotels are not TENFACE!

Room Tip: upper floor rooms are helpful

I stayed here 1 week. Staff were very helpful, I had a free tuk tuk service to the nearest BTS station almost everyday and it was so helpful. Room welcome pack also very comprehensive (sim card included with Bangkok BTS 1 day pass) Staff were incredibly warm and helpful, and even helped me out with any unusual requests. Fantastic stay and would definitely recommend.
