We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. Quite simply, we fancied something different after two weeks of spicy food. It is spacious, with tables kept reasonably apart. The menu offers a good choice of steaks, although quite expensive by Bangkok standards. We both ordered a New York steak, which appeared to be something between rump and sirloin! There is a limited wine selection, and again, wines are also pricey. (900 baht for a Chilean Cabernet I had never heard of, and which was one of the cheapest).
The problems started when our steaks arrived sizzling on hot plates, even though my partner was still eating her starter! At this point I was starting to think we were in a "fast-food" steak restaurant! It is worth mentioning that this kind of service is not unusual in Thailand. But, in view of the prices being charged, we expected something better.
In fact, I would have to say that our steaks arrived much quicker than expected, and of course, they could not have been rested! We had both ordered "medium rare", but disappointingly, both were overcooked. My steak was medium to well-done, and certainly not of good quality. We decided that we would eat them anyway. I finished before my partner, and, in a flash, my plate was removed, whilst she was still eating! We decided we would not have desserts, and I asked for the bill, which arrived with10% "service" added! That came to 2500+ baht.
I don't think we will be visiting this restaurant again1
