“Great for a transit hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

The silver gold garden is ideal for those who have a flight the next day. There is a free pick up and drop off service to the airport which is good! The reception area is small but nice we was shown to our room and one of the gentlemen carried my girlfriends back pack.

The rooms are nice for what you pay double bed, mini bar, A/C. The only let down is the wet room as it goes every where but in all fairness it dries up really quick. Our balcony was facing where the market is which was nice.

The cafe/restaurant was really nice and cheap we had two massive meals and 6 large singhas for 660 baht which being from London is really cheap!! The food was brilliant and service was good' the lady serving us was even helping us with our Thai when we was ordering and talking to her!

But overall their isn't that much around so a transit hotel this is best for. But the hotel is nice.

This was another one night booking for "transit" purposes. The hotel has complimentary pick-up and drop-off to the airport. The location is very convenient in relation to the airport. But too far from the city if you plan on staying as a tourist.

The room and service was acceptable for their price point.

I can actually recommend this place if your only purpose is to spend a night from or going on another flight.

Thanks to all the people on Trip Advisor who recommended this place! We needed it for one night when we flew in from Singapore and were leaving early the next morning to fly back to the USA. It was great!!! At the airport, a gal carrying a sign that said the hotel name found us, and she got us on the right shuttle directly to the hotel. The hotel was very clean, and had everything in the room to make our stay comfy: a TV with good channels, a fridge, good AC, comfy beds, nice furniture. We needed a meal and went to their restaurant in a building located behind the hotel, where we had a very cold beer and a delicious Thai meal at a very cheap price, prepared quickly by a very nice lady. There is a delightful garden out there and lots of outdoor seating if the weather is cool enough. The hotel is located right behind a Tesco market, where we went to buy some snacks for the plane. Because the building is behind the market, it is quiet at night for sleeping. Right across from the front of the hotel there was a Thai open air market, which operated from 4 to 8:30PM and which was quite interesting to walk through. The people there were quite friendly and welcoming. They sell everything there, and we could have easily purchased some great looking food if we hadn't already eaten at the restaurant. The hotel gave us an early wake up call and the shuttle got us to the airport in plenty of time for our early morning flight. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it highly. All the employees were friendly and helpful, although only a few spoke English. Internet was also available.

Room Tip: Any room would probably be good.

We stayed here having stopped off in Bangkok on way back to UK. We were picked up at Bangkok airport with only 10 mins or so wait and got mini bus to hotel with other customers. Reception staff were not v welcoming, room was dark and dingy with wet room of sorts (old hand shower hanging off wall). Furniture was old and too big for room when most folks will stay 1 night. Balcony was a waste of time as it was like a dungeon. lots of mosquitos but thankfully we had a spray and sprayed room. Had something else in room which may have been a cockroach! That got sprayed too and did not reappear from behind furniture! The little cafe where breakfast is served outside is actually in a nice location next to some well kept gardens. We onlyl found the cafe having gone into a room at front of hotel where someone was sleeping due to lack of will by reception staff to show us the exact location. Breakfast itself was more than we expected and not too bad quality. Service, however, a bit slow.

Room Tip: Not sure there is a good room here.

We stayed at this hotel our last night in Bangkok, as we had an early flight the next day. We made our selection based on other Trip Advisor reviews. The staff spoke decent English, and were very helpful. The hotel is situated on a side lane, near a convenience store and open air market. We wanted to take the train into downtown for dinner, so we obtained the hotel business card, in Thai, so that we could hire a taxi on the way back late that night. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and have A/C. The location is far from the center of town, so keep that in mind. It is convenient to the airport, and has a shuttle service (schedule at arrival) to the airport. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the main street. Take off your shoes when you enter the lobby, as...

The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to the Suvarnabhumi Airport and for those who are looking for the hotel's free shuttle service to the airport. The hotel is located near a market and provides an interesting experience while you roam around the shops. The room we stayed was clean but the toilet was terrible. It was the smallest and the worst toilet that we have ever seen not just in Thailand but any where else including cheap hotels in India. The staff was moderately helpful but a little more smiling faces would do no harm to the hotel. The food at the restaurant was satisfactory. All in all, if you are looking forward to staying close to the airport then the hotel can be a good option.

We stayed here for an overnight trip following long flights and en route to other areas of Thailand the next day. It would be wrong to say anything too negative about this hotel, as we didn't choose it for the facilities; we wanted somewhere close to the airport and with a shuttle service. The SilverGold Garden has both of these qualities; the transfer was easy and reliable, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and the service was fine.

Our only negative would be that we happened to be unfortunate because there was a fairground and some sort of live music concert on the night that we were there, making it very noisy. Whether this is a permanent fixture or not, I am not sure.

We didn't really explore outside of the hotel, so couldn't comment any further.
