First of all I was kindly surprised how well the hotel is located. On the one hand, it's in the center of Bangkok - just on the corner of the main street, on the other hand - the place is quite calm and you don't hear the noise of the traffic. The skytrain and subway station is 2 min away, it was really comfortable. The room was cozy, I especially liked the glass window instead of wall between bedroom and bathroom (seen in my uploaded picture) :) The staff was really helpfull, I got a bunch of advices where to go and what to visit. If I go to Bangkok once again, I will definitely stay at the same hotel! Comfort and good location for a reasonable price. I recommend!

The hotel is very close to the skytrain station Asoke, moreover is very close to the sukhumvit road, but you do not feel the noise of this road. The staff is very friendly and will help you in every your neeed, the room are confortable and new. I had some problem with the soap in the shower and the staff fixed it in few minute. It is a place to stay in Bangkok, considerind the location and the price it is worthwhile!
I'll be back!

Great hotel, clean and large rooms. Nice decor! Absolute bargain for the price. A little hard to find but eventually you can't miss the big green building. Amazing location right by asock bts which can take you anywhere in the city. Highly recommended!!

Periodically I spend 2-3 days in Bangkok as a solo traveller to complete local chores. My hotel of choice has become the Darjelling which is about the distance of a well struck 5 iron from the Asoke BTS (skytrain) and/or the Sukhumvit MRT (subway) stations. My need in a hotel is sleep and rest -- down time. For these trips I have minimal need for the hotel to offer entertainment, business facility, dining or resort activities. For my purposes the Darjelling is ideal -- efficient management and service with clean, modern, comfortable rooms and complimentary wifi. But the major benefits are the easy access to public transportation and the value of the venue.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

I reviewed the Darjelling Boutique two years ago - we recently returned for another week in Bangkok and didn't hesitate to book in to the same place due to the excellent location and value for money.

However, there clearly hasn't been a lot of upkeep in the last two years. The floor surface is chipped and damaged in places, damp stains on the ceiling, rust marks on the mirror. Dubious plumbing also meant variable water pressure and temperature during showers, and we experienced several mosquitoes in the room - I came away with quite a lot of bites.

My other complaint is that the doors and safes beep excessively and quite loudly - we were sometimes woken by beeping from other rooms when people returned from late night outings. If it weren't for that, we wouldn't have heard a peep from other guests.

On the positive side we heard no street noise once inside the hotel, and had no problems with the staff who always smiled and said hello and were happy to help us. The room was cleaned daily (even if we were in all morning and only allowed access in the afternoon) There's decent street food right outside on the corner and along soi 18, plenty of restaurants nearby and easy access to the rest of the city via Skytrain and Metro.

I'd still recommend Darjelling Boutique based on location and convenience, but I wish they'd do a little work to restore the decor and sort out the mosquito problem.

We needed a hotel centrally located in Sukhumvit, really just to sleep in and apart from this we did not intend to spend any time in the room. This place suited our purpose.

It's a couple of minutes from the Asok BTS - easy to spot the bright green building down a small road on the right as you leave the station keeping the skytrain on your left. We checked in but had to come back down as the room hadn't been cleaned (this was around 4.30pm). Thankfully another room was ready after about 10 minutes so we could leave our bags and head out.

The hotel building is of course old but there is a small lift. The rooms are OK. Quite modern and comfortable. I wouldn't want to spend more than a night or two though.

The location is really the major selling point so at the right price this is a good option for easy access to all Bangkok has to offer.
