“Poor hotel but good restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2011

This is trully a budget hotel and you feel it from the moment you arrive. Free welcoming rushed drinks at reception an a 50€ deposit in case you destroy something. Superior room was a bad 2 star hotel standard, basic and uninviting. Instead of a welcome letter we were greeteed by a list of all the components of the room: curtains, pillow cases, land sheet and how much it will cost us in case of damage or steal. I saw a cockroach on the bathroom the first night. The best of this hotel was its bar and restaurant, The Macarroni club, opened 24 hours with ok food and good ambience and service. We saw rats and cockroaches there too though as it is right in the street and I started thinking it was normal for Thailand. Internet access was free but the systemn in place was absolute laborious. The hotel has a small, overlky public and uninviting pool. No out phone calls could be made from the room and they would not clean your room unless you put a sign outside your door, but you are not told this untill you miss your day's clean. Staff were unhelpfull to the point of being unpolite. Travel desk seem more competent. Would not recommend this hotel and would not stay there again. Also be aware of boat scams in Bangkok.

We stayed at Villa Cha Cha in September. It has the perfect location, slap bang in the middle of the city, close to shopping and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean with tiled bathrooms. The best part is the pool, it is surrounded by plants and trees an dfeels like an oasis if you come back from thye smelly, dirty, stinking streets.

We checked inn there during our first stay in Bangkok last may as per recommendation of a friend, after a few hotel hopping around Khaosan area, and went back again on our second Bangkok visit this October.
The staff are very friendly, and even remembered us from our first visit. although they don't speak much english its still nice chatting with them and let us feel at home.
The very pretty tour agent helped us squeeze in some last minute tours without ripping us off just like before.
The hotel has a good restaurant, good WiFi signal and good rooms at a reasonable price.
were surely go back to this hotel when me and my girlfriend are in Bangkok next year.

Room Tip: rooms advertised online are the more expensive rooms, they allocate the cheaper ones for walk inn co...

I've stayed here twice before and will be staying here again in March 2012. After stumbling across this hotel 7 years ago 2 days after the hotl opened I fell in love with it. I love the location away from all the noise of Khao San Road but close enough to enjoy all it has to offer. Great Pool and Sauna. Have stayed in both the Junior King and Twin Rooms and was very happy with both.

Have stayed here as a solo female traveller and felt very safe staff are friendly and are happy to offer advice.

Room Tip: Junior King as for one in the building without the lift and one with no carpet just tiles. (The room...

Thanon Rambuttri (Street) is the rear entrance...you go through a restaurant to get to the hotel. The main hotel entrance is the next block north of Thanon Rambuttri...Thanon Tani (street). Junior king was very clean and sizeable. Pool was unbelievably clean and well maintained. Staff was constantly cleaning everything, even the walls. Free wireless worked well in the room and had strong signal. Closeby is Thanon Khao San (road) where all the nightlife is. As loud as it is on Khaosan Road, it's quiet in the rooms. Take taxis everywhere and ALWAYS have them use the meter.

Room Tip: Take taxis everywhere and ALWAYS have them use the meter.

I spent 3 weeks in Thailand, all hotels were perfect except this one. Very unfriendly staff who just want to make money. I had an accident on my foot with 14 stitches. Unfortunately I left a little bit of blood on the bed, which can be washed in cold water (I did with my white clothes). However they charged us an additional night for this, so 1000Baht. When doing the check out, they didn't even tell us a single word. I will never go back.

The rooms are also very small, although the location is good, but noisy because of some bars.

We always stay here to be close to ko San road! It's away from the madness of ko San road l. Good value for money ! Dont recommend the restaurant though. Reception and travel staff are very helpful.
