“Convenient Location, great Hotel in Ximending”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2010

Stay in this hotel for 6 nights. Got the 4pax room at NTD 2360.

Plus points - Value for money, Good Location, very near to Ximen MRT station. Very near to Ximending. Room size is just right. Breakfast provided. 2 big beds just right for 4 pax.

Bad points - The room looked clean, noticed many (about 10) small and 2 medium-sized roaches in middle of night in the room. Slippery floor in bathroom, got to be very careful.

Overall rating should range between "Good" and "Very good".
I would recommand to my friends.

Chose this hotel during my stay with some friends due to its good rate and location, and we sure weren't disappointed.

The Free-Go bus from the Tao Yuan airport does not drop/pick you right in front of the hotel, but we didn't have much trouble finding the place and from here on we had a good experience at Neijiang. Check-in was no hassle, and we were lucky to have the lady staff with good English throughout our stay, she was really helpful in giving out directions (and helped talking to the cab driver when one of my friends wanted to join the group for dinner).

The rooms are dated and they only provided basic amenities, but they are spacious and clean. We booked a double room but it seemed like the room could accommodate 4 people -something that I've never seen in a business hotel in Japan. It's only 5-7 min walk to the Ximen subway station, and the area itself is a lively place (dept. stores, food stalls, bus stops nearby), so it was really convenient for our Taiwan trip. The sandwiches provided for breakfast were not bad, but you can find better options outside.

For $30 per night, it's a good value for money.

My wife & I stayed there for 4 days in June and we are satisfied with the stay.
It's very close to the shopping and dining attractions (Xi Meng Ting).
It's very near to the Metro and using the metro, you can visit many other attractions in Taipei.
The room is clean and the counter staffs are pleasant.
We are out from morning till evening and we are not concern with the lack of facilities (swimming pool & room services)

However, the bus service from the airport, Freego doesn't go to the Hotel after 4.30pm (@ the airport). We alighted @ a metro station (@ SOGO Departmental Store). Even though it's our 1st visit, we could find our way to the hotel (using the metro) without difficulty. It's that easy to travel in Taipei and the Taiwanese are very friendly and helpful.

For the price I paid with my needs for superb location, public transportation and room cleanliness, my rating is 5stars

I stayed at Neijing Hotel in end-July 2010 and would like to share my bad experience at check-in. I arrived at the hotel about 3.30pm, though the hotel policy is check-in available after 3pm, I was told that my room was not ready and suggested I go for lunch. I already had lunch so I told the counter staff that I would leave my luggage and go walkabout at XMD. I ended up at the underground shopping mall in Taipei MRT Station as it was pouring. I returned at 6.50pm and was surprised when told that my room was still not ready. And the reason is because the earlier room stayer's flight was delayed so paid to extend their room stay. I was upset as I was wet and tired and would like a good hot shower and change of clothes. I suspected that my room was let out to lovers as it's known that most if not all XMD hotels are also Love Hotels. I asked the counter staff for explanation but he said he's only an employee and it's the hotel policy that they should accede to customer's request to extend room stay as long as the customer pays. What type of policy is this? Isn't it also a hotel policy that the room should be reserved for the customer who has already arrived? Anyhow, the tired me decided to sit at the lobby since I was told that the room was extended till 7pm and the cleaners need only 10mins to clean up the room. As I sat on the sofa, the counter staff had to call the room twice to remind them that it's past check-out time. While I sat and waited, an elderly man and a young lady (without luggage) came to the counter to drop off the keys. And after a while, I was told that my room is ready. Now, I am more certain that the over-stayer has absolutely nothing to do with flight delay but more to do with meeting of needs. So here's what I have learnt - yes, XMD is vibrant and lively and it may be convenient to stay here but if you are not the young trendy kind, go stay elsewhere.

General location: Good - Close to bustling XMD yet quiet enough to sleep. But the hotel is at the busy cross-road junction facing a traffic light, there's no curb/bay for taxi/car to park/stop safely so you need to be mindful in deciding to stay there especially during raining season and/or with elderly and children.
Proximity to Public transport: Good - it's less than 5 mins walk to XMD MRT Exit 1 or 6. You can also reach the hotel by walking through the Red Cabin.
Proximity to Food: Good - Eateries are everywhere so it's convenient. Hotel provides the same triple decker sandwich with egg, pork floss and ham and juice as breakfast and its hung on your door handle every morning so if you are staying for more than 2 days, you probably find alternatives for breakfast. And if you are an early morning person, I need to remind you that most eateries and shops in XMD do not open till past 10.30am so you may want to settle with McDonalds for breakfast or sleep in late if you want to do shopping at XMD.
Room: Acceptable for the price - Tiny room (but it's the generally the same for all TW budget hotels) with hardly space to open my hard case. Has a small fridge. Bed has seen better days as I can feel the spring coil. Pillow is soft but I made do by putting towels below it. Pillowcase has a cigarette burnt hole. The white bed skirting is covered with dust. The duvet has a hardened peck of man discharge. A hot and a cold water flask with daily supplies of instant coffee and tea packs are provided. Room is cooled by individual aircon ceiling mounted cassette unit with remote control and works great as Taipei has hot summers. Bedroom slippers are not provided so remember to bring your own.
Bathroom: Good - low cost bathroom amenities are provided like soap bar, shampoo in a packet, tooth brush/paste, hair dryer, bath and face towel, and toilet paper. Note that the toilet paper is not in a roll but like the small tissue paper placed on the table of some small eateries. But there's a signage that you cannot throw toilet paper into toilet bowl so it's rather yucky that I need to discard used toilet paper into the bin which will sit there for a whole day before being cleared the following day. The bath tub is high so it's dangerous for elderly to get in and out. I was traveling alone but single rooms were not available so I paid NT1580/nite for a double bedded room. When I ask for a room with Jacuzzi tub, I was told that I need to upgrade to room costing NT1680/nite. So a reminder to all forumers, please ask for price of Jacuzzi room before placing your booking.
TV programs: Good - there are many channels to watch, news and movies. But there is a porn channel so you need to be mindful in deciding to stay there with elderly and children. Also, they provide a condom with an ash tray although they claimed that all hotels in Taiwan are non-smoking.
Internet: Free internet access but you pay NT200/- as deposit to get a LAN cable. Make sure you keep the receipt as you need to show evidence of payment when you return the LAN cable to get back your deposit.

Other comments: On the day before my departure, I asked the counter staff how/where I can get public transport to the airport and was told he can help arrange a yellow cab at NT1k. I commented that it's expensive for yellow cab and was rebuked that it's standard cab fee to airport. Well, for that price, I can get a private car to the airport which I did. Thus I cannot say much about their helpfulness as I did not get any help from them. For the records, I stayed at Delight Hotel last year and the service I get there is definitely way better than here. Well, I suppose price does matters!

This hotel can be reached by Freego airport bus (with a logo of a dog), round trip cost TWD 260 to and from taoyuan airport. Basically, you just inform the driver you wish to drop at Neijiang Hotel that's it. Pickup at the hotel can also be arranged by the hotel staff.

We stayed here a total of 9 days. Location is just 5 minutes walk to Ximending shopping area and metrol station. Good choice if you plan to travel around town by metrol.

There is also a coin operated laundry service nearby which makes laundry easy and affordable. They served us with the same types of sandwitches everyday which makes us want to puke. Luckily, there's a convience store nearby where we bought our instant noodle and stuff.

Hotel room is not too big, just enough for me and my spouse to place our 2 large size luggages side by side. Bed is okay, however pillow is a bit too soft for us. There's free internet connection by cable which is nice as we need to check up our itinerary during our stay.

Television has an adult channel which might not be suitable for young children. Also a packet of condom is placed on the table on the first day of our stay.

I would recommend my friends to stay at this hotel which is clean and value of money.

If you will go around Taipei in MRT then Neijiang hotel is just a perfect place for you. Hotel is just 2 minutes away from Ximen station. Besides, it is very near to the actions in Ximending area, but location is quiet enough for you to have a good night rest. Carrefour and Wellcome supermarkets are within 5 minutes walk. You can get fresh cooked food to go in Carrefour or in the various eateries right next to the hotel. Inside your room you get daily supplies of coffee and tea as well as toiletries. The lady in the front desk, Gina speaks good english and is very helpful. You can even ask her to arrange the freego bus to pick you up on your departure. Hotel provides you daily with a nice sandwich and juice, but if this is not enough, around the hotel you can buy the same sandwiches and other local breakfast for less than NT$ 30.

One thing though, they provide the room with condom and there is a porn channel on TV. Just have to mind this if you are with children and elderly.

Generally, at NT$ 1680 a night, I highly recommend this hotel if you choose to be in Ximending area. Being a first timer in Taipei, I find Ximending a good place to stay because the area is always alive and very trendy. It is surrounded with nice small shops, cheap but great eating places, lots of street food, and an atmosphere that never gets boring.

Just been there 1 week ago. Before my memory fails me, i would like to share my experience of my stay in Neijiang Hotel. If you arrive by Taoyuan Airport (which almost everyone will), just turn left when you reach the arrival hall and at the end, you will see afew counters selling bus tickets. I took Freego bus (the counter just left of the exit, it has a DOG logo), cost NT$135 one way (recommend to buy 2 way tickets). The bus will bring you right to the hotel (but be abit patient as the bus has a fixed route and Neijiang is one of the last stops, close to 1hr during peak hours).

Ok, now for the main. The hotel itself is very small. 7 stories high. The pillow is a bit soft but you can easily request for addtional pillows (Its free, just OPEN your mouth and ask). Everything else in the room is ok, i mean, nothing to complain about. If your room is the bigger one, you will get an air-con controller to adjust your room temp, else if smaller room will be centralised system. But don't worry, it wont turn too cold like some hotel does. (Even if it does, just put on a cardigen to slp DUH)

Oh and for those who doesnt know yet, they will hang a sandwich and a small carton of fruit juice at your door for breakfast every morning. If you get sick after eating for too many days, just feel free to ask them not to send and eat at shops outside the hotel. Just step out of the hotel door and you will see many shops selling different kinds of breakfast. 7-11 and Family mart is within 3mins walking distance too.

It is location 5mins from MRT. (IT IS VERY NEAR)

Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more. Enjoy your stay in Taipei!!
