This is a great alternative to the usual biz hotels in Taipei. Large, very well-appointed rooms, excellent service, decent breakfast and free internet. Don't you just hate it when you've paid $200+ a night and the hotel charges you for internet access...well I know I do, so to have complimentary access (both wi-fi and LAN) was very pleasing. As was the room rate, which was around $130 (booked in Hong Kong). The only fault of the place in my opinion was the location - it's not that it's really bad or anything (a short cab ride will take you to all the major locations in TPE), but it's not really convenient either. The MRT station is a 15 minute walk and the surrounding neighbourhood isn't the most exciting. It's only 10 minutes walk to the big computer market however and cabs are plentiful and cheap.

Overall, the Miramar Garden was an excellent choice and I'll definitely consider it again when in TPE.

We stayed here again in late NOV 2007. We have 2 young kids, so the hotels w/heated pool was ideal.

The hotel provided parking free, and there was plenty of room in for all of us. It is in a fair location, 10 min walk to the Breeze Mall, and shopping were close by. There is a great garden view coffee shop . Where you can meet people or just have a drink and read the papers.

There are also a nice new spa facility on 2nd floor which was great and FREE. Staff was most helpful and friendly people we have met travelling.

A great place to stay and highly recommended!

This hotel has one of the largest rooms compared to most hotels in Taipei. It's larger than the deluxe room in the Sheraton Taipei. One disadvantage is that the hotel is about 15 - 29 minutes walk from the nearest subway station. The nearest restaurants are about 30 minutes walk. Only local style restaurants are nearby.

first time to stay after getting frustrated with rising costs at other premium hotels in the city....the Miramar exceeded my expectations and the staff treated us incredibly well. It was clear they are trying to build a clientele with Western business travelers and they went out of their way to provide exceptional service. The staff remembered my name and were very friendly. The rooms on the 14th floor are within the standards of most Asain 5 star hotels. wish the executive lounge offered more wine choices and served breakfast. The lobby bar and restaurant were great, breakfast buffet fresh, plentiful and with good choices. The spa is very nice, highly recommend you try it....as far as the location, well, taxis are cheap and who really wants to walk alot in the summer humidity of Taiwan anyway! Highly recommend you try the hotel on your next stay, the added bonus is that club level rooms were only about $150 per night, including lounge access and breakfast buffet. just go to front desk and you can negotiate a standing rate if you are a frequent traveler to the city.
