Owner description: Jao Ho Street has become a secondary road and the business has also declined. Therefore, the government set up a night market in 1987. It is the second tourist night market in Taipei.

“Night market with a difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014 via mobile

Very easily recognizable at the end of the road where a bright temple is located. The food in this market is different from the usual fried stuff of the other markets. More of barbecue here. Varieties is good here as well. And importantly I guess due to its location off the usual touristy places, not so crowded, so it's more kids friendly. All in all, works for me and my family.

“Food street”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

Honestly, was a little disappointed after visiting it for myself. If your on for eating, its definitely the right place. Other that that shopping is expensive and wufenpu is definitely a better choice. I personally enjoyed shilin night market more, bigger market, more shops and better varieties.

“Street Markets Raohe - food galore”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

There are a number of street markets. Raohe's focus is on food.

Shilin food stalls have gone to the basement and lost some lustre in my opinion. Raohe has kept to the tradition with push carts and stalls setup in the middle of the road. Raohe's prices and variety seems to be more than Shilin and is less crowded. It is a good place to sample food.

“Good experience at the night market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

The place is just like most other night markets in Taiwan where the streets are not wide and there has to be a bit of jostling around with other people. It wasn't going to help that I had a pram with me.

While there was not really anything exceptional about the place in terms of what is offered for food and shopping, I must say that the stall owners are very nice and one of them even went to the extent of giving my wife a piece of plastic that was cut to size in order to provide extra shelter for my daughter who was sleeping in the pram

“Want a night focused on food? This is the place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

The difference between Raohe and Shihlin is probably the ratio between food vendors and shopping. Shihlin has more boutiques compared to the street food vendor. It is crowded and huge too.

Raohe has more food vendors than the boutiques. It is also much smaller and less crowded. It is so much easier to try more variety of good street food at tis place.
