“Down time attraction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

This was an attraction that was great when we needed some down time. There is room for kids to run as well as a pond area where you can sit. It was nice to go relax and enjoy the beautiful weather without trying to really see something.

“Not that impressive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

I am surprise for the look of such an odd building (may be just me?).

The water show is nice and the guard changing is good but I keep thinking how did local architect Wang Da-hung came up with the design.

Chang-kai-Shek Memorial is much grander and more artistic.

“An excellet site for learning about modern Chinese history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

The Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is an important place to visit. Dr. Sun Yat Sen played a central role in the developments that created modern China, and the memorial hall contains several exhibits that trace these 20th Century events. The changing of the guards is worth watching.

“Interesting but ...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

The most impressive part of this attraction is the changing of the military guard (two people), which takes place every hour and takes 15 minutes to complete. The replacements march into the room in a highly stylized manner accompanied by one drill master. It is all done with much clomping/clacking of leather-soled boots on pavement. The guards are in all white except their black boots, which have white laces. There isa somewhat interesting adjacent exhibit on Sun Yat Sen's life.

“Historical Venue”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

Not as impressive as the Chiang-kai-shek Memorial, but close enough to 101 that you could make a quick stop here. The hall itself is not very interesting. There is a guard change here as well.

Again good for those interested in the history/politics and life of one of the most influential members of Chinese history.
