The Riveriera has exceeded all of our expectations and the staff has consistantly delivered superior personalized care during our stay here in Taipei. We were not prepared for the luxury nor the quality of the entire hotel experience. Beginning with a very attentive lobby staff that takes care of your every need or question, extending to the most marvelous breakfasts (western style) with an in house bakery that far exceeds all of the hotels where we have stayed in Europe. I give the hotel 5 stars for everything except location, and even that is a minor issue...you are a brief inexpensive taxi ride from all of the important sites downtown...you are within 10 minutes walk of the Metro...one of the best in all of the world...again very inexpensive, clean and efficient with trains coming almost every 3 to 5 minutes, and easy enough for even older citizens such as ourselves to understand and navigate (all signs are in English). One more thing...if you are going to be buying any gifts to take back home, let me recommend Taiwan Handicraft Promotion Center at the Nu Hospital Metro Station, gate 2 walk to the new hospital building then turn right for one block. The address is 1 Hsu Chow Rd. Taipei 10055, Taiwan ROC. or you can go to their web site,

or www dot handicraft dot org dot tw
Absolutely the best in local artists and craftsman...three floors of amazing high quality gifts and artifacts.
