“Nice and very comfy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Nice and modern decorated hotel in downtown Taipei. attentive staff, rooms are spacious, comfy bed with a couch. The bthroom is spacious and very well maintained/ clean with all amenities. The only thing is if you want to eat outside, you have to walk for 10min to the department stores, but many options around.

Having traveled the globe extensively on business for nearly 15 years, I'm rarely amazed at outstanding hotel properties (yes, I'm spoiled). But GH Taipei is noteworthy. It combines the size of a conference hotel with the functionality and staff attention of a small luxury/business property. Due to construction/remodelling, the grand club was on the mezzanine floor...and didn't lose a bit of the qualities that make a club helpful and relaxing before and after a busy day at work.

Gym is excellent (which seems to be rare these days), staff is top notch, views were amazing (Taipei 101 seemed to be right outside my window). I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I'm not aware of a bad room here. Prepare to have your expectations exceeded.

I stayed at this hotel for business and chose to arrive 3 days prior to my meetings so that I could enjoy all that Taipei had to offer; upon my arrival I was greeted by professionalism in the highest regard. The front desk agent that checked me in was very efficient and was mindful of my lengthy flights and travel time and could not have been more helpful. I was given a hand written letter from my meeting planner that must have been mailed at least a week in advance and I was very happy that it had not been misplaced, this was impressive for a hotel of this size. The room was very large (2 full size bathrooms, living space and bedroom) with a nice city view. Hotel highlights were the men's spa, meditation room was great for reading and jetlag recovery, breakfast buffet was top notch, really just an amazing display of culinary talent and the meeting space was also very refined. Taipei 101 was also a unique sight seeing opportunity. I especially enjoyed the bellmen's "taxi cards" that they were able to complete for you when leaving the hotel VIA cab, this was extremely helpful in paying a fair price and knowing you will arrive at the correct location.

This is one of the nicest/best value hotels out there. Right next to Taipei 101 with everything they have to offer, and plenty of choices in the hotel itself. If I am ever in Taipei again, I know for a fact I will be staying here. I honestly can't think of any negatives.

Hotel facilities are consistent with the Hyatt brand but the decor may make one uncomfortable the minute you set foot into the hotel located near Taipei 101 and business district. Giant talismans welcome you in the lobby while the artworks you see lining the walls leading to your room are all the same, featuring a common subject which turns to be a lengendary Chinese ghost catcher.

No paranormal activity was experienced during stay but was awaken by a sudden shaking of the bed in the night which turned out to be a mild earthquake. Not a good experience and am not staying here again if I have a choice.

the hotel has been renovated very recently, which is evident as unfortuntately my room still had that "new smell", but not in a new/nice way. I did get some kind of humidifier going but did nothing. still the room was quite spacious and solid bed which i like. the gym which is divided into two area, one with weights and the other machinery (nice idea) is realy well equiped.had bfast at restuarant, whihc was not to bad, suggestion is to use fresh juice, this is now a basic standard in most 5* hotels (and we can tell the difference), also choce of fruit not very wide.
Cheers the bar in hotel has a good atmosphere and bar food is good quality and big quantities, but the beer prices are TOO much. staff here are friendly.
hotel is good location also
all in all a solid choice, but for a Hyatt a little let down by quality of food
