This was my first business trip to Taipei - didn't know the city at all, and found Les Suites Ching Cheng reviews on Trip Advisor and booked in on the strength of them. After staying three nights I would highly recommend this hotel. It is, as the name suggests, a "suite" hotel, so what you don't get is the huge lobby, or any restaurants or bars on site. So if you are expecting this type of "grand" international hotel it would be easy to be daunted at first. However, what you DO get is everything you need as a business traveller. The rooms are clean, more than spacious enough for a solo traveller, and extremely well-equipped. I was amazed by the little amenities I kept finding even after 3 days stay - the usual stuff like ironing board, minibar (reasonably priced) etc, right down to paperclips, electrical adaptors and computer cables in the drawer. They also provide a cell phone that works outside your hotel all you have to do is give people the hotel number and your room number and calls get transfered to you wherever you are in Taipei!
The staff are more than helpful - I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and wanted a suit pressed for a meeting first thing Monday - no problem. No problems communicating with them in English too, compared to general public in Taipei.
The free wireless internet in your room, plus multiple computer terminals in the business lounge, are a huge bonus for keeping in contact with the world, especially when on business. All hotels should provide this!
Breakfast buffet is provided on site and is very good.
For other meals, this hotel is located in a good little locale, just off the main roads, and there is a street full of dining options within a minutes walk.
The hotel is also adjacent to an MTR station, which makes it easy to get around if you want to sightsee.
The staff couldn't do enough for you, and I would highly recommend this hotel.
