I stayed at the Landis for the first time and upfront I can say I am impressed by their level of service. Upon arrival the check-in was fast and one of their staff brought me up to my room to explain all important features of the room. I had a standard room which is not that spacious but sensibly laid out. Everything is tree nd where you need it. Every room is equipped with a if I hotspot and access is complimentary. So are two bottles of water and a daily fruit basket. The mattress of the bed is firm, linen is crisp and lean. Light switches (a common problem in mny hotels) are in the right places. The only thing I would have liked is a separate shower stall instead of he bathtub. Also, the shower gel they provide is jasmine scented which I really don't like (personal preference of course). On the top floor of the hotel is a cozy but very well equipped gym. The Brasserie restsurant on the ground floor serves very good food, so does the Chinese restaurant in B1. The breakfast spread, served at th Brasserie, is ok. The really outstanding feature of Landis hotel is their service. Their staff is obviously trained to a high standard, and all speak very good English. Simply said, I found their service level impeccable. It could be the perfect hotel if they had a swimming pool (again this is just personal preference). But even without, I will definitely stay at The Landis again when I am in Taipei next.
