“Din Tai Love. Don't miss this Taiwanese institution!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

We arrived in Taipei late last night and there was no doubt that Din Tai Fung would be our first meal today. As usual, awesome experience.

Upon arrival you are put on the wait list and you get to order right away. Your food is ready when your table is ready. American restaurants: learn something here...

The dumplings are absolutely amazing. It is a mystery to me how they can enclose those juicy fillings without having the dough of the skins get soggy. I personally like the vegetarian ones best, as well as the shrimp and green gourd. The appetizers are very good as well with the cucumbers and pea shoots being my favorite. When in season, I strongly recommend the sautéed ferns. Of course, the sticky rice with red beans completes this excellent experience.

I have tried the noodle dishes and soups as well, but these are items that I can also eat at home. As such I only focus on the dumplings.

Finally, as pointed out by some, you can eat at Din Tai Fung also in some selected US locations. However, the mother ship on Xinyi road with its narrow stair case and uninterrupted click clack of the bowls and plates has a flair that no other branch can match.

“Fabulous service and yummy truffle xlb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We went to this restaurant around 11am during the Christmas holiday and was lucky enough to be seated right away. All the staff over there were very friendly and courteous. We order their pork Xialongbao, Shrimp Xialongbao and the Truffle one. Our favorites were the Truffle favor as the taste was excellent and unique. The other kinds were also were very good as their skin is so thin and they taste very juicy.

“It's OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We visited Ding Tai fun in Taipei, since so many people has been talking about it. When we got there, it was about 2 pm, not too many visitors, no line and no wait. The services was good with smile. We had Beef Noodles in soup, dumpling, and a few more dishes. Food was OK, and high price. Worth it???, not really.

“Best Xialongbao (dim sum)!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Din Tai Fung is undoubtedly the most popular restaurant in Taipei. They have many branches and even have regional branches (KL, Singapore etc). But of course the original is from Taipei.
The staff are very helpful. They even teach you the correct ratio/ mixture for the sauce. The staff give helpful suggestions on the "must try" items on the menu.Reasonably priced too with fast service.

No trip to Taipei is complete without visiting this place!

“A great location for Din Tai Fung”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We loved the experience of Din Tai Fung with the convenient location at Taipei 101. This restaurant is the best managed set of restaurants in the world. Every server is incredibly professional, very well trained and consistent with what Din Tai Fung is famous for. This is a great experience to try traditional dumplings in a clean and classy place.
Just know in advance that the wait during peak times can be up to an hour and there is no restroom located in the restaurant. You must go into the mall to use the shopping center restrooms. The experience is still worth it.
