Hotel Éclat in Taipei was a great little find. Fantastic art work all around the hotel. Breakfast is small but adequate nod overall quite well done. Eggs made to order were complimentary and very good. Fried dough stick and sesame pan cake was very dry. Would not recommend ordering that from the menu. Juice is not fresh I don't think? The breakfast tea is served in a lovely large cup. Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10.30am. The rooms are spotlessly clean. As others have mentioned the toiletries are very nice (Molten Brown lip gloss, after shave balm, lotion, shampoo, shower gel and conditioner and then hotel branded other toiletries like make-up remover pads, pumice, comb, toothbrush and paste, loofah etc). The pillows are not that great; one was very soft and the other was very hard and seemed to be filled with bag stuffing. The second night I tried the foam pillow which was slightly better. The duvet and sheets were very comfortable and felt very clean. The slippers are thicker than normal hotel slippers and came in a sealed packet. Top notch, the wavy clock annoyed me as did the electronic bin which didn't work half the time as the battery was waning I guess? Also while I was initially taken with the electronic bin I release that I just want a large mouthed open bin that I can throw things into rather than hovering over the lid of the bin and waiting a few seconds for it to open before I can throw things away. Too gimmicky for me but I see others like the bin so each to their own. The heated toilet seat on the other hand was great as is pressing a button to flip the lid open or close. The service was very friendly. I would return. A hotel taxi to the airport costs NTD 2500 but a normal yellow taxi is safe, clean and only costs NTD 1,300. Alternatively for those on a budget, the bus from the airport only costs NTD 145 per person but the closest drop-off point is The Howard Plaza which is a good ten minute walk from the hotel.
There is small bar on floor 2 which smelt of fried food. I felt sorry for anyone staying on floor 2...

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the slight inconvenience that you had encountered in regard to the Airport transportation that was offered. We have limousine service by Mercedes Benz for which I apologies my colleague did not mentioned to you properly.
Nevertheless, I sincerely hope that you had enjoyed your stay with us and I am glad to learn that you will choose the Hotel Eclat, should you be in Taipei in the near future.
