“Historical influences”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

Architecture and sculpted pillars, ceilings, door panels and walls are amazing in all these temples here but this one in particular bears significant artwork of Chinese and Japanese influence.

“Religious experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

The most authentic of the temples I visited, you really see what's all about in here. Other temples are definitely more modern. There is a night market worth the visit, across the street.

“Very interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

We visited on a working day, after normal working hours. It was interesting to see people going there clearly after leaving from work. The temple itself is interesting and relaxing, an island of quiet from the activity of the surrounding streets.

“Temple tradition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

The day we visited was the 15th of the lunar month, so the courtyard and temple were full of devotees praying and making offerings.
The building itself is well maintained and visitors are welcomed.

“It is not just a temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

I grew up in Taipei and this temple is one of most popular temples which is well preserved and reflects Taiwanese culture. Moreover, each temple has its own historical story. The structure of the temples and the statues in each temple are different and represent unique local culture. That is why some temples were packed with people.
