This hotel is so much better than the Evergreen hotel. The buffet is excellent (don't miss out). Room is spacious and modern.

It is the perfect hotel to stay in Tainan and to explore the city and other places around. It is just next doors to the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi shopping mall with a foodstore in the basement. The hotel can be reached by bus #5 from the airport and you catch several buses from the hotel to the railways station. This hotel was our basis to visit the many historical buildings in the center and Anping in the west of the city (bus # 2). Even other places can be easily reached from Tainan, e.g., the Alishan forest (first a 40' train ride to Chiayi) or the fishing harbour Donggang (one hour by bus from Kaohsiung).
Our spacious and well lit room was on the 21st floor at the rear of the hotel with a view of the Confucius temple several blocks away. There is a supply of Bulgary toiletries.
The full breakfast buffet as well as a dinner buffer is served in the basement. The "La Moda" restaurant on the ground floor offers western style dining.
The indoor pool has the size of a competition pool.
One advice: do not rely on the concierges. They are redundant and can only assume responsibility for the incoming and outgoing mail. When we asked a first time how to get to Anping, the obvious answer was by taxi. After discarding this suggestion, the concierge recommended us to take the green bus line. However, he meant the green line on the city map. Next morning, his colleagues explained us to take the bus # 99 across the street. However, bus # 99 is only a weekend service - it was a Wednesday and the bus stop was this side of the road, first in the direction of the city center and then along to river. Another time we asked whether the concierge could make a reservation for the Alishan forest and mountain train for Saturday. He called the train station and was adviced to make a reservation through a website. Because he was unsuccessful, he called again but the telephone reply did not seem very patient or helpful. So, the concierge told us that the train was fully booked - the crowd on Saturdays, you understand. There was no alternative left for us than to take the train to Chiyai and to try to buy the tickets at the counter in the Beimen station of the Alishan railways. You guessed it already, places were available. But no despair: the lady in the visitor information center of the Tainan railways station is extremely well informed and her English is nearly immaculate. I hope she will be there when you visit Tainan.

Great meal and on to the bar,and what a bar for a hotel, this bar would not look out of place in a funky London suburb
Rooms very spacious and comfortable and well air conditioned
Fabulous Teppanyaki restaurant and Thai restaurant combine for a great evenings dining
Health centre is well equipped and not overly busy
Bonus of free high speed internet in all rooms if you have an ethernet cable makes this the best business hotel in Tainan
I was here on business but I want to return with my husband. What a hotel, definetely 5 stars! The room bowled me over. The moment I saw the bathroom I knew I was going to have to take a bath in that tub!
I did not try the fitness facilities but I really enjoyed the pool and spa tubs were awesome!
I was too tired to go out to eat so I ordered room service. The salmon was excellent! The breakfast buffet was superb.
I also liked that I did not have to pay to use the business center's computers for accessing the internet.
