“Great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We took a boat out on the lake, with a driver, for 350nrs. We were in awe of how beautiful it was, the views were stunning...all the way across the lake, mountains either side and a nice view of the world peace stupa.
We stopped off at the temple in the middle of the lake for a quick look around. When we got back to our boat we went straight back to dock.
We were a little disappointed as we never got our full hour on the boat but the driver said it was the 'rules' to go to the lake and straight back.

Never the less a beautiful lake, stunning views and well worth taking a boat out on (maybe take your own though)

“WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Its a very beautiful place.we saw many monks with their orange colour attaire came by boats from the temple located in the small island of the Phewa Lake. Late evening, around 6 pm, the lake looks very peaceful, many boats parked near the jetty, no more water activities at this hour, the wheather was not really good, its raining but very mild, we cannot see the reflection of Annapurna range in the lake when the lake covered with heavy clouds. We were wandering around the jetty just about 30 minutes than we walk back to the hotel

“Peaceful lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Phewa Lake located very near to the town, only 5 minutes evening stroll from our hotel. On the way to Phewa Lake, we passed through rows of shops, hotels and restaurants, then we passed by the army guard post at left hand side, and food stalls selling local snacks at the right hand side. Just a few steps we arrived at the jetty, we saw many monks with their orange colour attaire came by boats from the temple located in the small island of the Phewa Lake. Late evening, around 6 pm, the lake looks very peaceful, many boats parked near the jetty, no more water activities at this hour, the wheather was not really good, its raining but very mild, we cannot see the reflection of Annapurna range in the lake when the lake covered with heavy clouds. We were wandering around the jetty just about 30 minutes than we walk back to the hotel.

“So Good - Best View Fewa Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

I went to Nepal and travelling to Fewa Lake last year in Auguest 2012. The trip by road was amazing and great fun... The road conditions was not too good. it took me 5 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
I did the local boat to Fewa Lake , vising the Temple at the middle of the lake.
Great experience, I 'd love to go back there again.

“Very beautiful, but dirty and not suitable for swimming”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

Good:

*) Very beautiful, especially if you see from the high point
*) Many boat spots - you can rent a boat with or without driver
*) Many restaurants along the lakeside
*) It's possible to swim in the middle of lake from the boat - but be careful, you should have minimum 2 people inside boat to help you climb back.

Not good:

*) Very dirty along the shore. Authorities does absolutely nothing with it
*) No place for sunburn - only if you visit some restaurant and use the chairs from them.
*) No park for walking there along the lake. Nepalese does absolutely nothing for making the lake suitable place for the rest.
