“Great hotel, awesome location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights by the end of April. First, because we arrived late night, the hotel looked empty and dark. The room whoch was given to us had no hot shower and had cockroaches so we had to change the room. But by the morning everything changed. The garden was very beautiful, the rooms got lots of sunshine inside and the staff were very helpful. I really enjoyed my stay in Sampada in specially because it was in a lane which leads to lakeside road.

A new building made with traditional materials this guesthouse is a nice concept in a good location just a couple of minutes walk from all the cafes and restaurants. The rooms are a little expensive for what they are, but the bed was comfortable and there was a nice balcony overlooking the area. The bathroom in the first room we were given was dirty so we were given another room. Although the bathroom wasn't spotless it was ok, for the price you would expect it to be very clean. The hot water was also a little temperamental and the generator was only on at night, so no electric during the daily load shedding. It was a nice hotel but I would expect a little more attention to detail for the price.

Very friendly place. Lovely looking- genuine wood and traditional style- much the most attractive looking Hotel in Pokhara. Booked on the strength of reviews and website but there were some problems and we left after a night. Firstly it was a weekend and was unbelievably noisy. It is in central Lakeside and the techno trance music went on and on on a saturday night. We did not get to sleep for ages. The suite room had a gas canister in the bathroom to heat the water and was too complicated to work for me and made us all nervous to sleep near so we requested a room change. Unfortunately the room change did not have hot water either at night or in the morning so with the combination of all these problems we left and went to North Lakeside for peace and quiet. The owner speaks english but the staff do not seem to understand too much but are lovely. However, for me hot water was really necessary at the price, which I would not have minded paying had there been any, as it such a beautiful building with a little garden. So this is probably best during the week if they get the water sorted out or you don't mind noise at weekends. It is very convenient for all the top spots like Boomerang and Moondance- short walk. You will need your torch to walk up the lane at night.

Room Tip: Make sure there is hot water. The rooms high up whilst having views get the noise from Central Lakes...

Had a wonderful stay here for a week! Very friendly owner and staff. They are in the midst of upgrading the place with a new coat of paint, new bench in the garden etc.Highly recommended to have your breakfast in the garden!

Room Tip: Room 403 have a good view of fishtail mountain!

Although Sampada Inn is not as popular as other hotels in Pokhara, it is a very good place to stay at. The hotel boasts of traditional Newari architecture and modern amenities and warm and friendly staff. There have been a slight problem with the lights in our room but the owner upgraded us to a different room (with a balcony) the following day. As this is Nepal, I couldn't really complain about the power situation, there were moments when the water was not icy-cold enough to make me scream but the hotel is doing it's best to improve it's facilities. When we were there last week, the hotel was installing/fixing the solar panels for its water-heating system and back-up power. It's evident that the hotel's owner is trying his best to make-up for what the country can only provide and is willing to compromise to make the guests stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. i love the room and the bed, it is very comfortable specially when stuck inside because of the non-stop rain for a day. The rooftop also offers a magnificent view of the Fish Tail mountain.

the sampada inn is a unique property in a sea of hotels in lakeside. it's a beautiful building with lots of lovely details and a classic newari style look (red brick with gorgeous window carvings). it has a comfortable boutique hotel feel. the rooms are spacious and comfortably appointed. its location just off the main lakeside road means close walking distance to great restaurants and shopping, but it's still nice and quiet! that's a tough combo to find in pokhara. the owners (bejoy and kalyani) and staff (especially manu at the front desk) are extremely friendly and constantly seeking to improve their standard of service. just recently added is a very quiet but high-performance generator which kicks in if there is no mains or solar power. the garden is a lovely tranquil spot to enjoy breakfast (included with the room). my husband and i are living in pokhara long-term and we looked long and hard for a place to stay. we were very happy to have found the sampada, and love it enough to happily recommend it to our friends and family when they visit.

Room Tip: if you are visiting during the cold season, and want to be assured a 24-hour hot shower especially o...

I chose to stay at Sampada Inn after cancelling my bookings at Fulbari because of the uneven reviews. It truly was a pleasant surprise: the staff was friendly and the room had very nice view of the mountains and the neighbourhood below. The mattress was very hard but it was to my liking.

There were power cuts but the hotel ran its generators and I did not face electricity or hot water problems. The room's temperature was OK.

The best part though was the morning: it really felt fresh and the little garden proved to be a nice place to have a quiet cup of tea. It is also right up the alley from the main lakeside road making it a quiet hotel within a minute's walking distance from the main buzz of the road.

I would definitely go there again.
