“Great hospitality, great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

My bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara was delayed and I arrived Pokhara at 2100hrs. Ganesh, the owner took the extra mile to pick me up in a drizzling night from bus station to his hotel, without charge! The room was clean, tidy, and well ventilated. The garden was simple but a great place to spend time chit chatting and enjoying the starry sky. It is conveniently located at the lake front where it's all walking distance to restaurants, trekking appareals shops, bars, convenient shops, bookstores, bike rental etc. The hospitality was great! Great place to stay at Pokhara.

We moved to the Hotel Lotus Inn because of all the great reviews after spending our first night at a different place. The rooms are very good value (don't expect anything fancy!), the location is great, and the mountain views from the roof are beautiful. The staff was also extremely helpful - they arranged for a taxi to drive us up to Sarangot at 5:30am and then drop us off at the bus station with only a few minutes advance notice. If you are on a budget this is definitely a good option in Pokhara!

I really don't understand why everyone else is giving this hotel such raving reviews. I came here for a few days in June, because of the reviews and was very disappointed. Maybe they're all crazy or maybe it's me, but here is a list of things that were not up to standard:
-the toilet leaks when you flush it, so your feet get wet (clean water or dirty water??)
-the towels provided are dirty and stained, they even had holes in them
-the bedspread/sheets are also dirty and stained (mine even had a booger stuck to it)
-there were foreign hairs in the bathroom and on the pillows awaiting my arrival
-there was a used bar of soap on the desk
-the carpets are stained and have black, unidentifiable objects scattered around in the room
-the windowscreens either have holes, or birdpoo on them
-there's no air conditioning, as advertised
-there's no laundry service, as advertised
-hot water is not available 24/7, as advertised
-the bedrooms don't look anywhere close to the advertised pictures on the website
-the walls are stained and there are cobwebs in the corners
-nobody came in to clean the room during my stay (is there ever anybody cleaning the rooms??)
-the drinking water available in the lobby is actually not for free
-there's also a rooster that lives nearby that begins to crow starting from 11pm and continues crowing throughout the day. What is wrong with it?!!!?????

This hotel stay made me very sad. I definitely won't be coming back to the Hotel Lotus Inn.

The Lotus inn near the lake of Pokhara is a good place to spend the vacation. I stayed one week with my son Dhanu and enjoyed the hospitality of the Lotus Inn. I could also hire a motorbike from the hotel for site seeing and also to travel around. This is a Good Place to stay a couple of nights.

Room Tip: Have a look at the room first and bargain the rent fee.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Lotus Inn on the basis of reviews here. This was off-session at the beginning of July 2012. The room was basic (as we would expect for the cost) but it was clean, had a balcony and the free WiFi and TV was a real plus for us.

What make this place worthy of its rating is Garnesh, his family and staff. After travelling for months in India and Nepal it was such a relief to find a host who was not trying to sell something extra. Garnesh is very laid back, easy to chat with and arranged a great deal on paragliding as well as sorting our onward journey (yes, we checked the prices!).

Nothing was ever too much trouble. Three little things that stood out for us was:
1. We could help ourselves to boiling water in the kitchen so we could make our own coffee (they lent us the cups too).

2. Garnesh was kind enough to lend us his laptop when we had a problem with ours.

3. We noticed that he even rounded down the final bill.

I stayed again for several times in hotel lotus inn in pokhara.
Service and treatment give satisfaction still. The rooms are in a clean and good condition with an explicit good view.
This time a friend of mine wanted to go on a trek (annapurna round) and ganesh the owner organized in a very short time a nice, trustworthy guide (kem subedi) and a porter (his name i cannot remember) for a reasonable price.
I am sure I will have a lodging there again next time I come to pokhara. It's like coming home.

I stayed at the Hotel Lotus Inn for more than 14 nights in June 2012. The staff are very friendly, the food is very nice (+ cheap!) and the rooms are great!

I had a room on the ground floor with an attached bathroom. The shower was nice and hot and available 24 hours. Had a TV with about 15 English channels (including movies).

The hotel is located about 10minutes walk from central lakeside - this makes it very peaceful, yet still reasonably close to the action.

overall this is my favorite hotel i have stayed in Nepal and I would definitely stay here again!
