“Very pleasant stay in Pokhara!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

It was our first time in this hotel and we stayed there for 7 nights in total. We loved it. It is a very peaceful and charming hotel with a welcoming ambience.

Room
We stayed in the standard room (#102 on ground floor) and it was nice, comfortable, spacious and well-lit. Both room and bathroom were very clean.

Facilities:
Hot water was available 24 hours.
They had some basic lighting in bedroom and bathroom during power cuts.
Breakfast was good and it was included in the room rate. It had good continental options
Pick-up from the bus terminus was arranged by the hotel.
Wi-fi signal was not very reliable and kept getting disconnected frequently.

Neighborhood:
The hotel is conveniently located for shopping and dining just within a few minutes walk. It is also near the Phewa lake. The surroundings are very silent.

Staff:
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ram, the owner, was always courteous and even suggested us to participate in their cultural annual rice planting festival.

Overall:
It was a very nice stay in Blue Planet Lodge and we recommend this hotel. We will stay there for sure in our next trip to Pokhara.

We stayed here for three nights in total, before and after our bike trip.

Rooms are nice and clean.

The muesli from their breakfast menu is excellent and even includes fresh fruit (pomegranate!!!)

Sridi-ram runs the place and is a kind gentlemen. Brought us breakfast, helped us with our luggage, and was always polite.
The owners took time to say hi to us and recommended us two very good restaurants!

The only minor detail was that they forgot to pick us up at the airport. After waiting for10 minutes and no one picking up the phone at the front desk, we took a cab - it wasn't much - only 250 rupees and the driver had no trouble finding the lodge.

Room Tip: Book the green room - it's much much larger than the yellow room.

After a long staying in 2010 I have come back in April 2013 for a couple of weeks. I have found the same friendly atmosphere and good organization that made my staying in Pokhara so nice and relaxing. The 6 days Mardi Himal trekking booked via the lodge service went great: a more authentic trek compared to the Annapurna Base Camp I did in 2010, with breathtaking views.
Looking forward to starting planning my third visit...

This place is the perfect place for different types of holidays. If you want to do a trek, you'll receive all the help and advice you could need; if you want to meet very nice people, the open space makes it easy while you're having your breakfast or just sitting to work or read; if you wish to discover Pokhara, you're in the middle of the lake side, close by many places and you can also receive good advice; if you just need to rest, it's also possible, because it's quiet. It can be nice for couples, families, friends or just solo. The service is perfect, the food is good, the rooms are comfortable and beautiful, the view on the himalaya is awesome and the atmosphere is friendly and peaceful. Just go for it!

Blue Planet Lodge is a lovely, quiet place to stay - the comfiest beds we have found so far, wonderfully powerful hot shower, excellent coffee, good views - really friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor deluxe room - good value.

Could not have asked for a better place to stay. I was working in Nepal for 2 months and stayed at this hotel in Pokhara for the whole time. My family came with me for 3 weeks and we stayed on the top floor in the apartment and the deluxe room next door. I stayed on by myself for the remainder of the time (a few days in a regular room then back upstairs!). The hotel was spotlessly clean the staff were so caring, warm and friendly and treated me like family. Ram organised all our trekking and excursions (including airfares etc) in Nepal and they all went off without a hitch, including organising all porters and guides. The staff were outstanding and went well beyond the call of duty to ensure I had a great time and was well looked after (including making a sari for me at short notice!). Ram & Sabine go out of their way to help all guests have a great stay and experience true Nepal. I am so keen to go back and stay at Blue Planet Lodge.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely and clean with their own bathroom

The hotel is lovely and in the quite area. Rooms were very modern and clean. Unfortunately their yoga teacher got married and left so there was no resident one, but the staff is very helpful and can arrange session if needed. Staff was also very helpful with arranging out hotel back in kathmandu when we were struggling to get a space. the only suggestion to the hotel would be that they use one of the lovely Nepalese coffees instead of nescafe!

Room Tip: Choose a room on first floor rather than ground level.
